Ben & Jerry’s has always been a firm favourite of mine! I’ve loved it since I first found it, spending many nights and days eating it! Yet, with so many amazing flavours, it is hard to keep up with their latest creations! Kindly, to help solve my problem, the team sent us their newest frozen wonders to put to the ultimate taste test!

Good Morning Lovelies, 

A few weeks ago, a Tesco’s delivery arrived at my door. Handing over the blue basket, I found four full sized tubs of different Ben & Jerry’s, kindly gifted by the team, to trial! Like a hawk, my mother was behind me trying to get a hold of the goods, however, as our valued taste tester, I hid them from her to get her first reaction. 

I knew that she had never had any of these flavours before, which included, Spectacu-love, Oat of this Swirled and Marshmallow & S'more, so I was eager to see what she thought. After a few hours back in the freezer, I took the Marshmallow & S’more tub out to get a scoop from. 

Made up of chocolate ice cream with chocolate cookie dough and marshmallow swirls, the ice cream was topped with creamy whipped ice cream, toasted caramel swirls and popping candy chocolate chunks, all of which stood out when I took out a spoonful to pop in a bowl. 

Handing over the goods, my mum was eager to dip in, commenting that the swirls and chunks looked so good. Upon the first bite, she moaned in delight, as the familiar Ben & Jerry’s chocolate ice cream and dough hit her tongue. However, this changed when the popping candy kicked in. Sticking her tongue out to emphasise on the sizzle, I could hear the pops as they happened. She was amazed at how the candy mixed with the cold nature of the ice cream mingled in the mouth, describing it as a taste sensation. 

Talking me through it, she continued to state that she could tell that it had a s’mores taste to it, adding that it would be perfect between two cookies or biscuits, like an ice cream sandwich. For a first flavour taste, she was very very happy. So happy in fact that she couldn’t wait for the next one. 

Going back to the freezer, I decided it was time to try the non dairy option, Oat of this Swirled, which was made up of non dairy caramelised sugar ice cream, mixed with oat cinnamon cookies and a toasted marshmallow flavour caramel swirl. Again, the ice cream was topped with soft whipped non-dairy cream with a bonus toasted marshmallow flavoured caramel swirl and sea salt chocolatey chunks. 

Personally, I felt like this would be my mum’s favourite. Anything with cinnamon is an instant hit. Add in biscuits and it is like the gods have landed on earth. So, I decided to give her a bigger scoop of this one. Taking a spoonful of the whipped cream and marshmallow caramel swirl first, she moaned at the topping, which she said was made even better with the added salt from the chunks upon a second taste. 

Dipping into the scoop further, she gathered the ice cream and cookies next. This was where she nearly jumped out of her seat out with joy. She loved the creamy nature of the biscuits and how soft they had gone in the cream. It was like a dough but with a bit more of a crunch. 

When I told her that the ice cream was non-dairy, she didn’t believe me. She said that you would never know the difference, describing it as rich and creamy, like any other Ben & Jerry’s she has had. With the cinnamon hitting her tongue, she declared that it was a strong contender to be her new favourite flavour. She was quick to also let me know that she may be finishing the tub later that day. 

Finally, I went back for a scoop of the final flavour, Spectacu-love. A bit simpler in ingredients, the ice cream was made up of sweet cream ice cream with added caramel-cinnamon cookie chunks and caramel-cinnamon cookie swirls. I could smell the sweet delights of this ice cream as soon as I opened the lid. Something that I think came from the generous chunks within the cream. 

Taking a big scoop back to the table, my mum stated that she loved the look of this. Getting a piece of everything on her spoon, she popped it into her mouth. She looked at me after the first swallow with a look of pure joy. When she could talk again, she told me that it was a big like Christmas in a bowl. Warm, cosy and super delicious. She described it as an ice cream that could be enjoyed out of the tub or with a piece of cake, pie or another sweet delight. 

She loved the simplicity of this one, adding that she would definitely select a big triple scoop cone of all three flavours together if she could. I’m sure when we next find a Scoop Shop she will be going in and getting one of them in fact. 

With summer finally kicking in and the added excitement of the cosy months coming, these new Ben & Jerry’s flavours are perfect to snuggle up. Whether you enjoy a tub on your own or share a spoonful, they will give you all the happiness that you need from the first taste! I promise you! I’m so thankful we got a chance to review them. They are honestly a firm bunch of freezer favourites now!
