The idea of falling in love with someone in a truly wonderful way is something we all want! Yet, in Love Lies Bleeding, the affections that the two leading ladies have for each other ends up having deadly consequences. This gripping new thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Starring Kristen Stewart, Ed Harris, Jena Malone and more incredible actors, Love

Lies Bleeding brings a refreshing new story to the world of thrillers and action. Honing in on the body and the way it impacts us all, especially in regard to our emotions, director Rose Glass has written a script that will stand the test of time.

Set in the 80s, the film captures Lou, played by Stewart, a local gym manager, who spends time listening to music and exploring her body. However, ultimately never spending it satisfied, as she finds herself tied to the city due to her sister, who is trapped in an abusive relationship. That is until Jackie, played by Katy O’Brian, arrives on the scene. An inspiring bodybuilder, Jackie changes Lou’s world, testing out everything she thought she knew about herself.

After a horrific dinner party with Lou’s family, Jackie’s dark side appears and it isn’t long before the two women find themselves caught up in a high chase journey with deadly acts thrown in. The film has not been made for the light hearted. It has dark tropes from the get go, leading to edge of your seat viewing.

Both leading ladies appeal to the masses, as they provide a refreshing story that in no way aims to appeal to the male gaze. It is a feature that looks at the wonders of the woman’s body and how transformative it can be. Even down to the sex scenes, there isn’t a steamy element but more of appreciative one.

The actors are all on top form in fact, with some given their best performances to date. They seem born to play these parts, a fact that comes down to the superb script that Glass has created. She shows the brutality of bodybuilding spiralled into the brutality of the dark side of life and the characters within the feature. A clever mix for all to see.

Overall, the film is a masterpiece of messy noir meets Thelma and Louise. It is a success story in every way, with only a few faults holding it back. All of those involved should be proud of the work they have created, as this love lies boldly!
