Out of all of my beauty care and routines, I find myself looking after my hair the most! After years of health issues that have caused thinning, damage and brittle locks, I am continuously seeking the best products possible! And I may have just found the ones with Vegamour! They truly are a fantastic brand that strives for perfection and deliver it too!

Having suffered from anorexia since I was young, I have seen my hair go from being thick, Mediterranean style, reminiscent of my dad’s Italian heritage, to thin, brittle and prone to splitting. Over the years, I have tried to get better at eating, taken vitamins and minerals and used endless products to bring it back to life. 

Slowly, I’ve been able to get it back a little bit, however, I still seek new products to get the best results possible. This was what led me to wanting to find out more about the brand Vegamour, who kindly reached out to me asking if I would like to sample their brand. 

Built to create safe, healthy, active, plant-based haircare for all hair types, the company is striving to make unhealthy hair better. Full of scientifically proven ingredients, without any chemicals involved, the brand has had customers raving all around the world at their thicker, healthier and lively roots and all. Even after only a few uses. 

After being sent the items from America, I received the brilliant HYDR-8 collection. Created to hydrate and strengthen hair from start to finish, the HYDR-8 set includes the HYDR-8 Hydrate and Repair Shampoo, HYDR-8 Hydrate and Repair Conditioner, HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Repair Mask, HYDR-8 Leave-In Conditioner and the HYDR-8 Weightless Repair Oil. Each product should be used in that order to work its best according to their website, so I set about putting this theory to the test. 

Taking the shampoo and conditioner into the shower with me, I soaked my hair, before lathering in the shampoo. A little went a long way, as the gorgeous scent of the product foamed up to give a clean feel straight away. Upon washing it off, I could feel that my hair was smoother, however, it was the conditioner that really made an impact. Applying it right after the shampoo had gone, my hair felt like magic was being done to it. 

Instantly, the ends looked shinier, smoother and stronger. No knots appeared and my hair confidently could have been combed through with no snags. This was something I also found when I used the repair mask in its place once a week. Normally Sunday’s are my pamper day, so instead of using the conditioner, I used the mask to make myself feel a little bit special. Letting it soak in for a few minutes, after shampooing and applying, I was so happy upon washing it off with what I found. My hair just looked like it had been worked on in a salon. It was that good! 

When time wasn’t on my side, which is often when I have over slept, I quickly used my other shampoo to rinse my hair, but used the leave-in conditioner from Vegamour to give it some life. Combing my hair into plaits was a lot easier after doing this, as the Norma, flyaways that take so long to try and tame disappeared. I didn’t have to keep redoing or attempting to do the plaits. I did them both in just one simple go. 

I don’t very often use any tools on my hair, however, it is worth noting that the brand also suggests using the conditioner as a heat protector too. I didn’t test this element of the product lovelies, yet, I have full faith that their promises are true. 

To end the whole process, I added the repair oil to the ends and my plaits. I found that actually rubbing it into my hands, scrunching my plaits, when they were still wet, and then leaving the oil to dry in was the best thing for my hair. I found that when undoing my hair the next day, my waves were so much more subtle. Almost like mermaid like hair, which gave off a thicker appearance than before. Overall, leaving me with a very successful run of the whole collection. 

I do like to get a second opinion though, so I asked my mum to try them too. Having gone through the menopause, her hair has gone through a big change too, so she was eager to see what difference it would make. Trying to lighten her hair, she found that the shine the product provided gave her the look she was desiring. Her hair felt less dry and she stated that it had a fuller feel to it too. Again, she was as happy as me with the outcomes. 

Both myself and my mum agreed that we would happily invest more into the Vegamour brand. I will admit that they are a bit pricey, however, the results definitely prove that it is worth it. Instead of having to pay for endless hairdresser visits these items can make all the difference at home. Meeting every desire you may have along the way!
