Good Morning Lovelies,
Today is a busy day around the world! In the UK, many of us will be heading to polling stations to vote for our next political leaders, whilst in America, a lot of you lovelies will be celebrating the 4th of July. Both will definitely involve some epic firework displays, although, I’m sure they will be different types!
With all the celebrations and occasions, I thought it would be a great time to share a recipe that is super quick, easy and super tasty to tuck into during this special day. Using only three ingredients, this British classic will go down a treat with everyone! Grab a spoon and enjoy this berry Eton mess ASAP…
Ingredients
200g of Meringues
300ml of Double Cream
300g of Mixed Berries
Fruit Sauce (Optional)
Tools
Knife
Two Mixing Bowls
Hand or Electric Whisk
Mixing Spoon
Serving Bowls and Forks or Spoons
Method
To start, wash the berries, before hulling the strawberries if using. Taking the knife, cut the berries into quarters and halves. Leave the nicest ones to the side to garnish the top of the dish before placing the rest into a bowl.
Taking the mixing bowl, pour the double cream into it and whisk until soft peaks form and hold. It should be light and fluffy when prepared.
Grab the meringues and over the top of the mixing bowl with cream, crush them into bite sized pieces before folding them into the cream. Then pour onto the prepared berries, stirring gently to combine, but not crush them, together.
When ready, grab your serving bowls and spoon the mixture into the individual dishes. Top with the remaining berries and sauce if using before serving to your guests or self! Then simply enjoy lovelies!
What ever you are doing today lovelies, I hope you have a great time and enjoy this easy recipe again and again!
