What Were Your Favourite Shows When Growing Up? Here Are Mine!
00:00:00What did you used to watch when you were younger? I don’t know if it is because my birthday is coming up or something else, however, I’ve been longing for a time gone by, when I would come running in from school to watch the shows featured in this post! I may just have to have a little rewatch of one of them!
Good Morning Lovelies,
I may sound a little biased, however, I truly believe that I grew up with the best kids TV shows. As a child of the 90s, I had the magic of CITV, CBBC, Disney and Nickelodeon to keep me busy after school and on the weekends. Hours would be spent snuggled up on our sofa watching hours of goodness filling my screen.
Recently, I’ve been feeling very nostalgic and wanting to relieve those moments again. I want to have the freedom to rush in and pop on Arthur, Mona The Vampire and more. I want to wake up on a Saturday to the sounds of Dick N’ Dom and Smile on my screen.
As I approach turning 29, I feel more comfortable accepting that I am a big kid. Whilst I may have gone round the planet 29 times, I still feel around nine years old. When I have a bowl of porridge, I can recall sitting with my mum, snuggled up watching Bridget Jones on the sofa. I remember waking up at sleepovers and watching Phineas and Ferb. Spending hours in the evenings watching Kerching, The Misty Show and Hannah Montana.
This year, for my birthday, I’m having a big kids party. The theme is Bluey. The day will be spent in bed watching all the films and shows of my childhood. Some of which I wanted to celebrate here. To me, the following were some of the biggest highlights of my day during my time at Primary school, Secondary school and even later years. Which of these do you remember…
Mona The Vampire Slayer
Big Kids
The Misty Show
Kerching
50/50
Jungle Run
Mr Bean: The Animated Series
The Suite Life of Zac and Cody
Doctor Who (David Tennant was the best!)
Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids
The Story of Tracey Beaker
Art Attack
The Tweenies
Stupid!
Come Outside
Big Cook, Little Cook
The Ghost Hunter
Get Your Own Back
My Parents Are Aliens
Zoey 101
Unfabulous
Thunderbirds
Hannah Montana
Smart
The S Club 7 TV Shows
Watch My Chops
There are so many more I could include, however, these are the ones that I would spend hours and I mean hours watching. I can recall winter cold evenings spent on the sofa, with a bowl of cereal, watching Disney from the moment I got up until late. I didn’t always do this, as I was often out with friends, playing on our street, yet, when it was too cold, I would spend my days enjoying the delights of our screens. And so to mark my birthday coming up, I’ve decided to spend the day doing that again. I’m not even going to get dressed!
What did you used to watch as a kid lovelies? Let me know!
