Mean Girls 2024 Blu-Ray Review

00:30:00

On Wednesdays we may wear pink! However, with the 2024 musical version of Mean Girls landing on home release from today, it is safe to say that the bright pink cover will be meaning that we celebrate the cover and the film every day of the week!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Many of us worry when a successful film gets a reboot. The nerves hit in more ways than one with all the anticipation for it to be a success huge bouncing of us all. Luckily, the 2024 musical version of Mean Girls is one big sparkly adventure, which will have us wearing pink on Wednesdays for years to come!

Instead of focusing in on the 2004 film, the new feature delves into the 2017 musical version. With the classic teen story still front and centre, the big difference here is the musical numbers. Oh, and the new cast of course. Angourie Rice takes on the infamous Lindsay Lohan role of Candy Heron, with Reneé Rapp playing her frenemy Regina George. Both of which making the role their own.

Taking everything we know and love from Tina Fey’s story and script, the comic has provided a new generation with the knowledge of why we love Mean Girls so much. It hasn’t lost any of its appeal or charm. It oozes it more in fact. Every new face fits perfectly. Every song tells a story that comes from the pure emotions that the characters are facing.

Whether the iconic lines appear or the new ones shine out, you end up smiling at both. Especially with the songs, as they capture you in the pure charm of them. You won’t stop singing them for days to come.

Whilst many of us will know the story, have shown it to others and still smile at the iconic nature of it, the new film is a hit. A pure nostalgic journey back to the early noughties with a Mean Girls makeover. There is no Burn Book wording for this film. It’s a pure delight in every single way!

4 Stars
