What is the food that you always find comfort with? Is it a jam sandwich? A good packet of crisps? Cheese and crackers? Perfectly glacéd and sprinkled doughnuts? Whatever it may be, it has inspired this amazing podcast, which inspired me to think and share about what food mixture I find the most comforting. Good Morning Lovelies,

One of my favourite podcasts around is the Grace Dent Comfort Eating show! Having recently started a new series, I love the way she ties in the stories that have made them who they are with the foods that go with them. Each week, the guest must bring a snack or food of choice that is their ultimate comfort food. This got me thinking, what would I pick?

Every day, there is at least one meal that has something to do with honey in my life. I adore the stuff. Any kind or type. There so, I knew right away what I needed to pick. Struggling to change my meals often, I do try to. However, this meal stays all the time because I love it so much. This is why I had to pick it as my ultimate comfort food!

The dish I would pick to present to Grace, after being hidden under her tea towel of choice would be…

A New York Bagel Company Plain Bagel with Rowse Set Honey, Apple and a few Haribo sweets on the side.

I absolutely love this meal so much. However, I like to have it in an odd way. Well, odd to others but ultra comforting to me. I love to have the honey warmed up, run over the bagel and apple, before popping it back in the microwave for two and a half minutes. When warm enough, I then add the sweets onto the plate, into the runny honey.

Heating the food makes the apples soft and warm, the honey runny and the bagel so enriched in their juices that it ends up tasting like a glazed doughnut. The dish is so good it should be illegal. Okay, maybe not, but it is simply delicious.

I’m not sure how Grace’s tea towel would survive this, as it can get a little messy, however, it is pure perfection to me! It would probably be different if my illness didn’t impact what I eat, however, I hope that my previous self would have discovered this combination and loved it too.

What is your ultimate comfort food lovelies? Let me know!
