Good Morning Lovelies,

With the 4th of July just around the corner, there are lots of exciting American recipes that we can create to celebrate. Including Pop Tarts. Easy, affordable and fun for the whole family, this recipe will have you leaving behind the ones you can get in the shop and making your own.

I have used jam for this creation, but you can try any fillings. The recipe is super easy to change and you can have a lot of fun with it. Cinnamon sugar, apple, chocolate spread, oh the choices are endless! See what I mean below:

Ingredients

  • Two Sheets of Ready Made Shortcrust Pastry
  • One Jar of Strawberry Jam
  • One Tub of Vanilla Frosting
  • *Sprinkles (Optional)

Tools

  • Baking Tray
  • Baking Paper
  • Tablespoon
  • Fork
  • Spoon or Knife (For the icing)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425F or 220C and grease and line a baking tray with baking paper. Place to one side.
  2. Roll out the pre-prepared shortcrust pastry sheets and cut into 12 rectangle shapes. Place six of them to the side, leaving six out to add the jam too.
  3. Place one tablespoon of jam into the centre of the flat rectangle, placing one of the six that were moved to the side on top.
  4. Once all six tarts have been made, crimp the edges of each tart with a fork to seal.
  5. Place the tarts onto the baking tray and place into the oven for 10 minutes or until slightly brown. Once ready, take them out and leave them to cool on the side.
  6. After the tarts have cooled, add the frosting to the top and place the sprinkles on them if using. Then simply enjoy!

What are you making this week lovelies? Don’t forget to share your creations with me!
