Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard Review

17:50:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

After the events of the first film, bodyguard Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) is taking a well-earned work break. Yet, when he is drawn back into the world by con artist Sonia Kincaid (Salma Hayek) to help rescue her husband, hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson), his break is cut short.

Out on DVD, digitally and Blu-Ray edition from today, the film finds itself battling to get the attention that the first one did. With only a short cinematic release, the feature doesn’t manage to really stand out. Even with a fantastic cast, who are all known for their comedic ways.

Reynolds works hard to lead the cast, but the script lacks the fun that many would be expecting. Especially since the Deadpool features. Every action sequence becomes over dramatic because of this, making it hard for those watching to stay entertained.

The follow-up lacks any sense of fun. It is a hard to stick with feature that feels like it was only made for those involved. Audiences won’t discover anything new. Yet, if you are a fan of the first then you may just like seeing the characters back together.

However, what you will all find is what you may be expecting. Over the top dramatics that become laughable for being so bad. It is a sad fact for all those involved. All we can hope is that this sadly closes the features before a third film is released upon us.
