Dealing With An Illness When In Recovery

08:24:00

Good Morning Lovelies,

It’s so easy to forget that when you suffering from a mental and physical illness, you can still get ill in other ways. A few weeks ago, I woke up with heat exhaustion. I couldn’t move without feeling sick and had to wait for my mum to get home from work to help me get dressed and downstairs.

When I was able to move, I couldn’t stop shivering. I was absolutely freezing and after having a nap on the sofa, had to have a shower to warm up. All things that my anorexia hated, as it yelled at me that I was being lazy, even when though I knew my body needed it.

Being ill is something I hate. In both ways. But I won’t let my anorexia win and I will make sure I listen and care for my body. When in the pitfalls of this illness, you can often forget what it is like to just be ill.

But it happens. And when it does, it is hard to listen to what you have to do to get well again. Yet, you have to. The voice may go mad, but the next day will see it get easier again. You are working hard to make sure your body is okay.

My anxiety went through the roof. No one understood it but me. However, it didn’t stop me from reminding myself to think about how I was going to get better and doing it. One step at a time.

Just remember, slow and steady wins the race!
