Good Afternoon Lovelies,

Today is officially Blue Monday around the world. The day of the year when most people are down or not feeling quite like themselves. Something I must admit that I have been a little bit today!

There so, I have decided to present to you all the some of the ultimate upbeat films to take your pick from to beat those blues away…

Inside Out: Whether you are happy, sad, 30 or 3, this film will make you feel every emotion, but the end message will make you light up like a Christmas tree. I always see this as more of an adult Pixar feature than a child’s one.

Silver Linings Playbook: The book is my favourite book of all time and the film swiftly joins it on my best features shelf. From motivational quotes to the fun dance scenes, there is no way you are coming away from this without a smile.

Bridesmaids: Okay, so you were never going to get through this feature without this film being mentioned at least once. When me and my bestie Issy feel down and the other is around, we just have to sing along to Wilson Phillips. As well, Melissa McCarthy is my spirit leader!

Hairspray: If you need a film to dance and sing around the room to today, then put on Hairspray. The final song will be timeless to you and you will be up jumping on your bed whilst you watch. Plus, it has Zac Efron on it!

Girls Trip: I fell in love with this film over Christmas and it still makes me laugh whenever I think about it. Gather the girls and watch this absolutely brilliant comedy that will make that girl's trip you went on last time look innocent.

Pride: Every time I see Pride it makes me want to change the world. I want to go out there and do something big, bold and for a worthy cause like those in the film do. You will be sure to be inspired by the end of it.

Sing Street: If you are with your siblings today, watch Sing Street. The songs will lift you up, but the fighting spirit of the two brothers will also have you feeling less blue and more red from dancing along to Drive It Like You Stole It.

And when nothing else will work…

IT: Out today on DVD, if you really can’t pick your mood up, spend some time getting the adrenaline pumping by watching this film. It will be sure to spook you and at least you can think that your day isn’t as bad as Pennywise’s by the end of the film.

What films are lifting you up on this Blue Monday lovelies?
