Good Morning Lovelies,

I can officially now let you all know that the blog will be heading to this year’s BFI London Film Festival! I am very excited to be returning for a third year, which looks to be one of the best ones and we have only had two films announced!

This morning the BFI announced that the upcoming Battle Of The Sexes will be the headline film for the American Express Gala Screening this year. Starring Emma Stone and Steve Carell, the film is expected to bring a star-studded red carpet to the event, with Emma Stone, Andrea Riseborough, Elisabeth Shue, directors Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton, and the legendary Billie Jean King expected to attend on the 7th October at London’s Odeon Leicester Square.

However, don’t worry if you are unable to make it lovelies, as screenings of the film with highlights from the festival premiere will be shown in cinemas across the UK from the 10 October.

Speaking about the film, Clare Stewart, the BFI London Film Festival Director, said: “We are delighted that Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton’s Battle Of The Sexes will be this year's American Express Gala. This playful, funny and moving film is a rousing tribute to Billie Jean King whose impact on gender politics was as powerful as her legendary forehand.”

Whilst Christian Colson, producer Battle Of The Sexes said: "Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton, together with our exceptional ensemble led by Emma Stone and Steve Carell, have brought Simon Beaufoy's richly textured screenplay joyously to life and I can't wait to share the film with my fellow Londoners at LFF".

Look out for more BFI London Film Festival news soon lovelies!
