The Light Between Oceans DVD Review

Good Morning Lovelies,

Made by the same director who gave us Blue Valentine, The Light Between Oceans was never going to be all plain sailing. With characters put through every emotion humanly possible, audience members will experience their own inside out film when watching this.

Directed by Derek Cianfrance, the film, adapted from the best-selling book, is a heartbreaking look at how a couple is forced to deal with horrible consequences when the family they built is disrupted by the mother of their baby turning up.

Emotions run high from characters too as they are forced to deal with their own personal issues, portrayed through Michael Fassbender’s character Tom and Alicia Vikander is a superb manner.

Together the pair put in a great amount of work to give us a team who lead the film to be successful. Vikander is continuing with her winning streak as she takes on Isabel with a great amount of patience and what looks like a genuine love of the character.

Whilst Fassbender’s character is one who tries his hardest and is the most loveable figure in the whole film. He deals with everything and the ending for his character is the moment that audiences need by the end of the film.

As the baby they have is ripped away from them, the couple is forced to deal with their emotions and the new people that come into their lives.

Pressed for answers to their questions and how they came to bringing up the child it is like the novel is leading the film and as each scene plays out like a page. There is so much that the filmmakers have done to make sure audiences think about the film after watching it.

However, if you were to take away the leading characters the film would lack a lot. The great performances are what make this film come to life. Without them, the story does tend to drag and the film hasn’t really got much need to have been made.

There so I am giving the film...
