Hey Lovelies, 

As someone who grew up with Matt Lucas in ‘Little Britain’, I was interested to see how he had changed and developed in his new comedy, ‘Pompidou’, in which I had heard about before reviewing, thanks to so many watching it on the BBC. 

With many British comedians’ joining him for this new chapter, the show follows a penniless aristocrat and his butler, as they try to embrace the new world and raise enough money to go back to their old lives. 

Lucas’ character is much like a previous character we have seen, but a bit more developed and with such a familiar atmosphere surrounding him, it provides a sense of joy to feel as though you have been reunited with an old friend. 

The show isn’t as funny as the previous hit, but it does have moments in which remind you of the light hearted good old fashioned British comedy that Lucas can make for all ages. It is an interesting show that will definitely hook you in until the end, but there is a missing spark to it that I can’t put my finger on.
