Hey Lovelies,

Today has been full of brand new TV news and I have even more for you now lovelies, from the very brilliant Watch lovelies, who have announced a brand new three part documentary series starring Sara Cox, Grace Dent and Sophie Ellis-Bextor lovelies!

Each episode will be an hour long and will look at the impact in which technology has had on friendships, romance and celebrities, starting with Sara Cox’s look into how social media has impacted friendships in recent years.

In her hour long special she will sign up to Facebook for the first time ever to see how friendships are explored on the service, as she has previously felt that it made them less meaningful than seeing friends in the real world and fears for her children, as she worries about them not having the quality of friendships in which she does.

“Meeting up with my friends always guarantees belly laughs and hugs - it feels nourishing for the soul. But thanks to social media, friendships are changing.  By the time my daughter is an adult maybe face-to-face time with pals will just be reduced to FaceTime. And if more and more friendships are going to be conducted via technology, can that technology ever substitute for what we get from actually being in the presence of friends?” stated Sara Cox.

While journalist and author Grace Dent will use her documentary to look at how romance has changed throughout the years with the rise in internet dating and apps. Looking at it from all sides, Grace will see if it is doing more damage than good, as well as trying to see if she can add something extra to her relationship by using it.

Speaking about her show, Grace Dent said, “I see what’s going on and I’m continually amazed. In under five years, everything I know about the rules of finding love has shifted.”

In her documentary Sophie Ellis-Bextor will explore how celebrities have become so driven by the world of social media and technology, and how it in fact became so big in the first place, as she admits that she is worried about the amount of power it has. Until now, as she will explore all sides of it for the documentary.

“Social media and new technologies have changed what it means to be famous,” said, Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

And, Amanda Ross, Joint MD of Cactus TV said, “Cactus TV is thrilled to be making these major new documentary films for UKTV.  Working with Sara, Sophie, and Grace has been a joy.  Intelligent, insightful, funny and entertaining, they each have a distinctly different voice – and collectively they’ll take Watch viewers on a journey of exploration into the modern world that is surprising, fascinating and thought-provoking.”

As well, Richard Watsham, Director of Commissioning at UKTV added, “Our new strand of authored documentaries is an important part of Watch’s programming going forwards with more to come very soon. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with talented people like Sophie, Grace and Sara on something that not only feels personal to them but covers important issues that affect the lives of all our viewers.”

The show is due out in 2016 lovelies, so I will definitely make you aware of anymore news I hear throughout the rest of the year on it!
