Autumn and winter may just be the cosiest months of the year, however, their warming nature can actually be quite a low point for our skin! From drying it out to redness and breakouts, the changing of the seasons can make us all want to hibernate away until our skin looks better! However, we don’t have to thanks to the wonders at Miamo!

Being half Italian and English, I have a very mixed skin type. Some days, I look a little bit golden, whilst others I am Wednesday Addams pale. I also suffer from little breakouts, dryness and during the year, a lot of redness in places. All of which has led to me trialling a lot of products to try and find the one for me. 

After reaching my 30s, I have also used this search to start to find the items that will make sure my skin is protected best as I get older. Therefore, when the wonders at Italian based Miamo got in touch, I was intrigued to see how they may be able to help me. 

Using cutting edge technology and ingredients, the brand creates only the finest products to help protect skin from aging, sun damage and acne. Kindly gifting me three items from their collection, both my mum and I were eager to put them to the test to see if they worked. 

My mum’s main concern with her own skin is dryness, itching and aging, as she worries about the loose skin she has around her neck area. For me, I am always looking for ways to beat the dry flaky skin that coats my face when the heating goes on and the weather gets colder. 

The three items that we got all promised to help tackle all of these issues, so after a long pampering session, involving scrubbing, exfoliating and LED masking during one evening, we were ready to put them to the test in the morning. Knowing how important a daily SPF is, even during the darker months, we both agreed to start with the Aging Defense SPF+ 50 Sunscreen Drops. 

Coming in a handy 30ml bottle, meaning it can easily slot into our travel bag too when we go away, we each dropped a number of droplets onto our faces before rubbing in. Not too oily or sticky, both of our faces quickly soaked it up, leaving a gorgeous glow in its wake. Providing us with the added confidence that it was protecting our skin even more so under our moisturisers elated us both. Yet, we were prepared to go even further with our skin protection plan. 

As someone who doesn’t use tinted lip glosses or sticks, being a balm girl at heart, I handed over the Aging Defense Lip Gloss, in a light pink shade to my mum. Testing it out on her hand before she used it, the colour matched perfectly with her skin tone, whilst also providing her with the delicious taste of dragon fruit too. 

Popping it onto her lips before a girly night out, she loved the subtle nature of it that added a bonus SPF+ factor to her make up routine, by providing a 30 UVA rating. Lasting all night, she found it was still on her lips when she came home, without leaving smears or marks anywhere. Taking it off at the end of the night, she found that her lips were super soft and now it has become a daily part of her routine. 

Having also received the GF5-Glutathione AOX Boost Serum, we applied this at night, as we both felt that the battle to defy skin aging and wrinkles would be best done then. When we were equally relaxed and not frowning or straining our skin and eyes whilst out and about or looking at screens. Again, the products flowed on smoothly, providing a light fragrance that was calming to smell when drifting off. 

As someone starting my anti-aging product search and for my mum who is actively using items that state they work on this, we both loved the glow that we got in the morning from it. Even weeks later, the brightness hasn’t disappeared and my mum has even stated that it has made her feel more confident, as she can see the lines in her face have become less defined and a whole lot smoother. 

Miamo may not be a brand that is on everyone's lips or skin yet, but it definitely will be. Although it has a bit of a costly price point, you don’t need a lot of each to make a big difference, making them very worth the amount they are.
