Going out on Halloween doesn’t have to happen! In fact, it is perfectly fine to spend the evening looking after yourself and your skin! Something I will definitely be doing, as I have big plans to scare the trick or treaters who come to my door by appearing in my LED mask to hand out the sweets! 

I also plan to spend the evening plucking, creaming and applying all the other products that make me feel good. Something I am certain many people will also be doing throughout the evening, whether they are staying home or they are heading to a party. It really is a day to be kind to yourself in an odd way. 

Even when we are dressing up as ghosts and demons, the face paint and make up that we apply can make for some tough times on our skin, so it is key that we only use the best products possible to protect it. Having tested a number of items recently, I thought I would share them with you so that they can make your pre and post Halloween party skincare routine a real breeze…

SOS Skincare Serum, From £5: Face paint, make up, fake blood and even the weather. All of these things can cause our skin to perform many tricks instead of treats at this time of year. SOS Skincase SPF 50 Day Cream, From £5.50: Halloween is the perfect time to prove that protecting your skin from the sun is vital. Whilst many of us don’t sparkle like the Cullen’s do, this sun cream can make your skin shine and glow in so many ways, providing the perfect base for any Halloween look. It is also a great restoring cream when the face paint and make up have been a little bit too harsh as well, as it removes any traces of redness. 

ARDELL Press On Lashes, £19.95: Looking to make your eyes really pop to help your Halloween look pop? Well, have no fear because these lashes are here! With no need to apply any glue, you can simply press on and go, making them easy to use on any night out. You can even take the handy pack out in your bag with you to ensure that any lost lashes on the night are saved. You will win the best look of the night for certain with these.

SOS Skincare Lip Balm, £16: Has the fake blood that you applied to your mouth left your lips feeling dry? Leave those pains in the past with this balm that is very light but super moisturising. A little really goes a long way with this, as it works in a matter of seconds. For me, the best time to apply it was at the end of a busy day and first thing in the morning, as the other night comfort led to soft lips in the morning that only needed a little top up to be saved from splits and sores.
