The Items Within The Museum Of Me

00:00:00

When you look around your home, what items are the ones that have made you who you are? Forget the kettle or your favourite duvet, I am talking about the pieces that are really sentimental to you! Having been inspired by a show I saw recently, I thought I would share the ones in my life that have made me who I am!

Good Morning Lovelies,

With so much love inside me for Ireland, I downloaded the RTE Player to make sure that I could get a daily fix of something from the most beautiful place on earth. Whilst searching it, I found a show called Museum of Me, which showcases Irish stars' most treasured belongings that have made them who they are.

It was whilst watching the show that I started to think about the items in my life that mean a lot to me. From pieces of jewellery to mementos, I could have chosen something from every room that meant something to me. Leading to me wanting to share a little museum of me with you.

Narrowing my selection down to items within my bedroom, the following are pieces that have made me who I am today. They all mean so much to my heart and if I didn’t have them in my life I think I would be lost. Welcome to the Museum of Me…

A Cuddly Toy Dog Called Blue: At around the age of four, I went to a car boot sale and fell in love with this black and white dog. He was soft and squishy, with the feeling like he had lost a few beads within him. To me he was and still is an imperfect perfection. He was named Blue, as I got him around the same time as I went to my first ever concert to see the boyband Blue. Another memory I will never forget.

Me, My Mum & My Dad At My Nursery Photo: Sadly, I don’t have a lot of photos of me, my mum and my dad. You always think that you will have more time to take them until you don’t. Therefore, one of the most treasured pieces I have in my life is a photo of me and my parents that was taken on a school photo day at nursery. It is the photo all three of us treasured the most and I just love how it captures us, the three musketeers.

My Graduation Cap: I am so proud of the fact that I am the only person in my family to graduate from university so far. I will never forget walking towards my parents, after the graduation team had got my dressed to walk on stage, and seeing their faces. My dad never really cried but I could see the tears in his eyes. The pride on both of their faces is the first thing I think about when I see my cap. Although it sits in its box at the bottom of my wardrobe, it is a reminder of the achievements I have in life.

A Poster Of Dublin: My love for Dublin has no bounds. I think about it multiple times a day and am always planning an escape to the city that holds my heart. I got a poster of it kindly sent to me after my first ever trip and it is now up in my room for all to see. It is the first and last thing I see when I open and close my eyes every day, bringing a smile to my face every time.

A Box Full Of Tickets: It can be an old cinema ticket or one from a concert I have been to but I have a box in my cupboard in my room full of them. I always forget about it but when I flick through all the pieces I am reminded of some of the best times. They are tickets that will forever fill my heart and head with joy when I see them.

An Engraved 30th Guinness glass: The newest of the pieces within the museum of me is this glass. It has spurred a fixation for me for the Guinness brand, as I will never forget the moment I was given it. As soon as we came home, I had to dedicate a whole shelf to it in my room, as it reminds me constantly of the wonders of Dublin and the people within the city.

The LEGO Home Alone House: Two years ago, my mum treated me to the ultimate Christmas present after a tough year. It took me three days to build and now sits on the ladder shelf in my bedroom to feed my love of the film, Christmas and LEGO. My whole room is surrounded by LEGO but this is the ultimate piece I own.

If I was to go round my entire home, I would pick out so many more items but these all have a special place in my heart. They are pieces that I would reach for first if a fire broke out. I would be lost without them completely and to know I have been lucky to have them within my life makes me feel so humbled. What pieces would you place into your own personal museum lovelies? Let me know, as I would love to hear all about them!
