Not Sure What To Pack For An All Weather Holiday? These Five Tips Can Help!
00:00:00Going away on holiday soon and not sure what to pack because of the weather? Snap! As the days fall away until I go, I don’t know whether to put shorts or a coat within my suitcase! However, as I have worked to solve the issues I am facing, I have come up with a few handy tips that will help us all!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Have you ever booked to go on holiday somewhere and not known what exactly to pack? I am currently going through this very issue, as I have booked to go to Ireland, but know that the weather can change in a moment. Last year, we had beautiful sunshine one minute and the next, it was freezing cold and hailing.
Honestly, I don’t think I have been warm along my shoulder blades since. Therefore, I am currently having to manically think about what I can pack that will adapt to both weathers. This is leading to a lot of debates about whether I should include a thick coat or a thin trench. Do I want big socks or little socks? The choices are endless.
Yet, as I have gone into this battle, I have uncovered a few helpful items and tips that I wanted to share, as I think they may help you too if you are in the same situation as me. We must stick together when it comes to packing after all and these little bits of advice will unite us all…
Onions Are Not The Only Things With Layers: Layering up when in a country that presents all four seasons in one day is key. Pop on a light t-shirt, under a thicker fleece, before topping that with a light coat or tench will mean you are covered for all occasions. If the weather turns hot, you can take off the top two layers. If it turns, you can put them back on.
Plastic Ponchos May Just Save You: Okay, they may look like a bit of a giant condom, but a plastic poncho, tucked away in your bag, could save you. Don’t worry about getting caught out in the rain by having one of these handy. Surprisingly one of the most waterproof things in the world, you won’t look silly when you are the one staying nice and dry.
Pack One Fancy Outfit: Although the weather can turn, if you want to dress up during your holiday then pack one fancy outfit. You can then adapt it to suit the weather. Warm outside? Slip over your cardigan or jacket. Thin straps not providing enough protection from the sun? Pop on a t-shirt under the top of a dress. Absolutely chucking it down? Get those cosy socks out and go preppy with the look. The options on adding every day wear to a fancy outfit are endless.
Make Accessories A Focal Point: No matter what the weather is, your accessories can be the easiest thing to adapt to it. Use a waterproof backpack that can be used come rain or shine. Wear a hat that will cover you from the sun and a storm. Pack a light scarf that you can use to protect yourself from a sudden chill or to cover your head in the sun too. Little pieces can make a big difference.
Don’t Worry About New Pieces: We all want to look amazing on holiday but sometimes that need for a whole new wardrobe for it isn’t necessary. Take staple pieces from your wardrobe at home and swap and change them to make new looks. This way, if the weather ruins them then you don’t have to worry about not bringing them home with you. All of which can lead to a very good excuse to go shopping once you are back.
Going on holiday shouldn’t be stressful and even when it is there is lots we can do to help bring that sense of mad panic down. I hope that the above is useful to you lovelies, as it has really brought a lot of ease when it comes to what I am packing! Although, I do still need to find those passports!
