Be prepared, you may end up making a trip to buy them all ASAP!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Perfume is one of my big loves in life. I adore a good smell and the way that a wonderful aroma can make me feel is incredible. Honestly, one spritz from a favourite of mine and I feel like I could conquer the world.
Therefore, with summer here, I decided to raid my perfume collection and give a shout out to the ones that are perfect for summer. With familiar notes from the likes of coconut and vanilla to more floral kinds, there is a smell for everyone within the following…
DKNY Be Delicious Coconuts About Summer: Anything coconut based and I am your person! As soon as I see something that is said to smell like it I have to have it. It is the scent of summer to me and really gives me the boost I need, as I suffer from SAD in the hotter months. This scent lasts all day and night. In fact, it stays on clothes for a long time and that is something I love, as it means that a bottle lasts a long time.
Marc Jacobs Daisy: With the daisies in our garden and fields in full bloom, even the name of this perfume makes you think of summer and picnics in an overgrown field somewhere. Super light on the skin, it provides a distinct smell throughout the day that is suitable for all age groups. It is a scent that will take you from summer to autumn perfectly, due to the memories it helps to build.
Viktor & Rolf Bonbon: I always dreamed of owning this perfume when I was younger. I loved the bottle. I loved the smell. I loved the way that it sort of gave off a classy look to your dressing table if you had it on there. So, when I was able to buy it I did. This fragrance is used sparingly, as I don’t want to waste it, meaning it comes out for those special summer moments. The ones in which I don’t want to forget and won’t because I know I wore this perfume to it.
Paco Rabanne Olympea: When I was younger, my signature scent was Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million. A scent I still love today. However, I do feel it is a little bit heavy for the summer months. The brand’s Olympea fragrance is the perfect exchange for this time of year however. With vanilla and watery tones, it lasts throughout every situation, providing a subtle summer scent that gives you the boost you may need upon smelling it.
Sol De Janeiro Cheirosa 71 Mist: Whilst everyone raves about the original, I think this scent is the best one out of the collection. With notes of vanilla and tonka bean, it smells like the most delicious biscuit you could buy. When I use this, I probably spray too much on myself, but I have no regrets, as it lasts for days and days.
Perfume is a powerful tool when it comes to helping us remember a moment, time or simply in helping us feel more human. I would be lost without my daily spritz of the stuff, as I know that I wouldn’t feel nearly as confident without it.
Summer is a great time to find a smell that is right for you, as there are so many notes that work with the warm weather, so head to your local perfume counter or shop lovelies and have a good old spritz! Your nose will love you for it!
