My dad was the kind of person that if you left a snack lying around, he would hoover it up! In fact, one Christmas, I was gifted, by my parents, a tube of Jelly Tots. I was so excited to have them but wanted to keep them until I had eaten all the other sweets I had been given, in a sort of save the best until last manner. 

Yet, when I finally got round to wanting them, I found that my dad had found them and eaten them himself. To this day, I never let him live it down. Growing up with someone like this meant that when it came to Father’s Day, I always knew that a snack or sweet based present would go a long way. Therefore, I would always make sure to include one in his gift bag. 

Sometimes it would be mints, other times it would be chocolate, but as he got older, he found himself liking something with a more unusual taste. Something with a bit of a bite to it. I can recall a well-known supermarket even making big chocolate bars filled with the stuff.
