The Best New Food Finds I Have Been Enjoying Recently
00:00:00Having been suffering from a terrible IBS attack recently, I have had to completely change the way that I am eating and what I am eating! This has led to the introduction of some delicious new foods, which I have now fallen head over heels for! Find out all about what I have been enjoying recently here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
As many of you know, I find trying new foods a bit of a challenge due to a number of mental health issues. Yet, I am always looking for ones to introduce into my diet. Especially if they help in terms of my IBS, which has been a real pain recently, as it has caused nausea, cramps and even flu-like symptoms.
Turning to my trusty supermarkets, I have found that some of the greatest new additions to my meals have been own brand creations. The following five are the items that I have loved the most in recent times, often lighting up my day and meals from morning to night. They include…
0% Strawberry Actimel Bottles, From £3.25: Having been advised by my doctor to try and stop having milk to see if I can reduce my IBS bloating, I have turned to Actimel, as it had reduced amounts of lactose within it and more probiotics, which can help with gut issues. At the moment, I am still in the early stages of finding out if it is working or not and I have had a lot of bloating and hard stomach feelings. Yet, I will give it a longer trial, as I hope it is my stomach just getting used to it. The strawberry kind tastes just like a Yazoo strawberry milkshake, which I used to adore when I was small.
Twinings Buttermint Tea, From £2: With my stomach all over the place at the moment, due to my ongoing IBS battle, I have been seeking out peppermint and mint items to try and help settle the issues I am facing. This tea tastes just like old school Murray Mints, which were my favourites when I was younger, when I was given them by an elderly neighbour. It makes me want to invest in a whole pack of the toffee like boiled sweets, as the taste is unbelievable.
Strawberries, From £1.59: When I was younger, summer would always be marked by the welcome return of strawberries into our home. My love for them coming and going with the seasons. Having been scared of them for a while, I decided to test that fear and added them in as a topping to my cereal each day. The beautiful crisp bite is something that I have realised that I have missed a lot and even when I have them warmed up on top of my cereal, I love the jammy texture of them.
Tilda Boil In A Bag Jasmine Rice, From £2: Rice is something that comes and goes in terms of fear foods for me. However, whenever I have it, I absolutely love it and these easy bags make preparation a whole lot easier for me. To help me ease back into having it more often, I have been enjoying it with a mix of fresh vegetables and BBQ sauce to replace my prior meal fixation of honey and bagels. It is a winner in my eyes so far.
Stute No Sugar Strawberry Jam, From £2.65: Due to my IBS, which has been causing me a lot of problems recently, I have been trying to cut down on how much sugar I consume. Advised by the low FODMAP guide, I have started using this jam to top my cereal and it is lush. Made of real strawberry pieces, it has hardly any sweeteners in it too, which means my stomach feels a lot calmer compared to when I eat other kinds.
I hope that you have all been enjoying a whole host of delicious foods recently lovelies! I would love to hear about anything you think we should all be giving a go, as I am always on the look out for new things to fill our home with that are super tasty!
