Good Morning Lovelies, 

On a weekend, it was often a ritual that my dad would want us to go to our local Italian shop to buy authentic Italian foods that we could all enjoy as a family. One day, this could be bread and meat. Next it could be pasta and cakes. Whatever it may have been, it was always a real treat to have. 

There so, as we begin our week of Italy inspired celebrations, I thought I would share with you all some of the best Italian food shops in the UK. As soon as you enter one of these, you are transported back to the island, bringing a sense of real sunshine and joy into your heart…

Piero’s Deli, Hoddesdon: For years my family has been using this deli to get all of the Italian food that we want and need. From mini pasta tubes to place into soups to thinly slice Mortadella meat that my dad could have easily sat and ate all of in one sitting if we didn’t ration him, they stock it all. As soon as I walk in I feel like I am back walking the streets of Sicilian, bringing back that connection I have with my dad every time.

Lina Stores, London: Not only do these stores sell the best Italian food but they also make their own range and stock it in their shops and restaurants too. This means that you can have authentic Italian goodness in your own home any time that you want. Plus, their packets bring an extra slice of Italy into your kitchen too. 

Dolce Delia Bakery & Patisserie, Broxbourne: If you have ever been to an Italian bakery than you will know the wonders of those little golden trays filled with Italian biscuits, cakes and sweet delights. This bakery and patisserie allow for customers to enjoy them around the UK, as they are made by authentic Italian bakers. My mum loves to pick up a selection when we spot them at our local food market. Their cannolis are to die for! 

​​Buongiorno Italia, St Albans: Known for being one of the best in the country, this Italian deli and restaurant only houses the best of the best. With a warm, family friendly feel to it, as soon as you step in you are welcomed with open arms. Though, you do leave with your hands full of delicious delights. Just like any Nonna would want. 

Foods Of Italy, Bedford: Full to the brim with shelves that have been stocked high with Italian goodness, this shop also allows customers to pick up the freshest Italian sandwiches. When you have one from here, you feel like you are back on a hot sunny beach, basking in the glory of the warm weather whilst eating it. 

In Hertfordshire, where I live, there are so many Italian delis that it is hard to choose which ones to go to, yet these five have been the ones that I stay very loyal to. You will always get a good slice of Italian joy when you go to these lovely places! If you know of a great place to go, do let us know, as I love to hear about them!
