Good Morning Lovelies, 

And a very happy Earth Day to you all! What have you done already to celebrate our wonderful world? Have you recycled something? Used plants to prep a recipe for dinner tonight? Whatever it may be, I hope it brings you a little bit of joy and also reflection! These simple methods are key in helping to make our planet survive and today is really a great time to think about how you can be doing more to help heal it. 

One company who is really thinking about the impact we are making on the environment is DenTek, who are campaigning strongly to make our bathrooms a better place. With so many bathroom cabinets heaving with plastic waste and tiny items that may be keeping our teeth clean but not our planets, DenTek have found that in the UK alone, there are millions of toothbrushes, floss picks and other dental accessories within our landfill sites. 

A figure that continues to grow every year, as dental floss alone takes up to 80 years to completely break down due to the nylon it is made out of. A material which sadly often makes its way into our waterways instead of waste sites. All of which leads to around 11 million tonnes of plastic waste being put into our oceans each year. Something our dental hygiene products play a big part in. 

Therefore, on this year’s Earth Day, I wanted to share the message that DenTek is sharing and working on to help make those small changes in our routines happen, to help save the planet. Reducing the amount of plastic used within their interdental hygiene range, the brand is now turning to bio-resin from sugar canes to make the handles of their Floss Picks and Interdental Brushes, leading to a reduction of 80% in regards to carbon emissions. Whilst all the packaging that the items come in is also made from fully recyclable cardboard or a minimum of 30% recycled material and is 100% recyclable material. 

By using their lovely items, I promise that not only will you get amazingly fresh breath and clean teeth but you will also be making big strides to help save the planet. I am so proud to use their items and have had a massive amount of praise from my dentist since I started making the interdental brushes a major part of my routine.
