Zootropolis 2 Home Release Review

00:00:00

It seems like a long time ago since I was falling into the world of Zootropolis! Yet, this year marked the return of the best policing team since Line Of Duty! Making history at the box office, Zootropolis 2 is a fun adventure that the whole family will enjoy from start to finish! You would be seriously hopping mad to not watch it!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Many years ago, when my niece was small, I took her and my nephew, along with their mum, to the gala screening of Zootropolis. None of us were sure what to expect but by the end of it, we were all in awe of it. Now, after a long time, the Disney crime fighting dream team is back and better than ever.

Having broken every major box office record upon its release in cinemas, Zootropolis 2, out now on home release, is worthy of all the awards it is getting. Gathering its leading stars one year on from the events of the first film, cops Judy Hopps and wild fox Nick Wilde are back together, as they try to solve a dangerous case before it ruins the centenary celebrations for the city of Zootropolis.

Voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, as soon as you hear them slipping back into the loveable characters, you know that Disney is going to work their magic. And boy do they! But not in the way that you may have been expecting.

Whilst the reunion with the character is great, especially for little ones, it is the beauty in the way that Disney have transformed the animal filled city that makes for the most enjoyable viewings. The wonder of animation shines brightly throughout each scene, taking audiences back to those early days that we all know and love the classics for.

The plot lacks this charm quite a bit, as the story tries to navigate how the two leading characters actually find working with each other. Something that isn’t working out for the pair of them. A fact that translates a little into the script. Therefore making the animations and drawings the saving grace for the feature.

However, the plot isn’t all bad and as a reminder as to why we love this city so much, the team do a good job at bringing it back to life. The return of co-characters are what make it a real pleasure and like we all did all those years ago young viewers will love seeing the sly grin of a sleepy sloth come to life.

Whilst lacking the charm of the first, Zootropolis 2 is still a winner for its animalistic take on our world in all its classic Disney animation glory!
