Transform Your Christmas Leftovers Into The Ultimate New Year's Eve Party Buffet
00:05:00Still have a lot of food leftover from Christmas? Don’t panic, as all the remaining meats, vegetables and even gravy can be used to help make the most incredible New Year’s Eve party buffet! From mini sliders to winter based slaws, the possibilities are endless, so I hope these tasty ideas can help you with your big party prep! Bring on the buffet!
Good Morning Lovelies,
When it comes to a party, no matter what time of the year, the buffet is one place that will definitely get everyone talking! However, at Christmas and New Year, it seems like this love is elevated to a whole new level.
Therefore, I thought I would share some helpful ideas that can help you save money, time and a lot of food waste, when it comes to your New Year’s Eve party buffet. Using the leftovers from Christmas Day, these delicious mini bites will have everyone talking about them until the next New Year’s party.
Grab all your fridge and freezer finds and be prepared to be amazed by what you can do with a little that will end up making a big impact…
Pulled Turkey Sliders: Using any leftover turkey, shred it and mix with some simple BBQ sauce. Then place inside any leftover mini bread rolls that you may still have and serve. You can even put a little bit of coleslaw or leftover lettuce in them to make them even more epic.
Pigs In Blanket Skewers: If you have some mini cocktail sausages and bacon left over, make them into tiny pigs in blankets and pop them onto cocktail sticks. You can add spare cubes of cheese or mini gherkins onto them too to provide some extra magic.
Stuffing Balls With Dip: Got a little bit of stuffing mix left in the box? Make it up into little balls and serve with any dips that you have sitting in the fridge. Sour cream and chive or onion and garlic dips work amazingly with this, although you could also add a bit of leftover gravy to mayonnaise to make a gravy inspired sauce that is perfect with these herby balls.
Patatas Bravas Roasties: Potatoes always seem to be leftover at Christmas, so cube them up, boil and roast in any leftover fats, such as the classic goose ones, and make perfect squares of deliciousness. Then add in garlic, chopped tomatoes and paprika to create an easy dish that the whole party will love.
Ham And Mustard Tarts: Using the leftover pastry you may have from the wellington’s and mince pies you have created over Christmas, shape tiny tart bases that can be filled with any remaining ham and mustard, before being topped with some leftover creamy dip.
Panettone Trifle Pots: You can’t have a buffet without something sweet and these tiny pots use up a lot of leftovers that need using quickly. Break up any remaining panettone, place into the bottoms of some mini pots and add any leftover custard, cream, fruit and even jelly if you have made it to make little desserts everyone will love.
There are so many ways that you can build a full buffet from your Christmas leftovers, yet, these were the ones that I couldn’t wait to share, as they are so easy and quick to do! Two things that we always want when it comes to this time of year! Plus, if you have any leftovers of these, you will have some easy to freeze items too that you can use throughout the next few months or even in lunchboxes when going back to work and school! You simply have to love a festive leftover!
