Blogmas Day 21: A Sweet Christmas Cracker Recipe That All Can Enjoy
00:05:00Crackers at Christmas are often in paper form or the kind on our festive cheeseboards! This year though, I have a fantastic sweet cracker recipe that is going to make dishing out desserts even more special! Whether you use them to gift to others or to make up a chocolate fondue board alternative, get ready to enjoy these chocolate crackers all season long!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Since the start of October, my mum has been worrying about whether she has enough crackers for her cheeseboard. As the only one in our house who eats cheese and crackers, it amazes me the amount of preparation that has gone into ensuring that she has her massive box of Jacobs crackers lovelies.
Especially when she hasn’t thought about the desserts or sweet delights that she may need to dish out to those who visit us with a sweet tooth. Therefore, inspired by her dedication to those little biscuit wonders, I have a recipe to share with you all that combines chocolate and caramel to make the ultimate sweet crackers this Christmas.
Get ready to see your cheeseboard be left alone due to these chocolate wonders lovelies…
Ingredients
100g of Milk Chocolate
50g of Soft Caramel Sweets
50g of Crushed Digestive Biscuits
Mini Marshmallows
Christmas Themed Sprinkles (Optional)
Tools
Two Large Mixing Bowls
A Mixing Spoon
A Rolling Pin
Scissors
A Knife
Baking Paper
Method
To start, grab a large mixing bowl and add in the biscuits. Using the end of a rolling pin, crush them into small pieces.
Once the biscuits are ready, use some scissors to chop the caramel sweets into tiny chunks over the bowl. Place to one side.
Using another mixing bowl, break up the chocolate and melt in the microwave in 20 second bursts. Stir until completely runny.
When the chocolate is ready, pour into the caramel and biscuit mixture and add in the marshmallows before stirring until thick and sticky enough to hold together.
Grab your baking paper and cut off a big sheet. Then carefully spoon the mixture onto it and roll into a log or cylinder.
Sprinkle the tops with festive decorations before popping it into the fridge to set.
When the log is set, cut the roll into cracker thin rounds and serve!
After taking your first bite of these lovelies, you won’t be able to stop making them throughout the festive season and beyond! Honestly, forget the normal kind of crackers we know, it is all about the sweet kind from now on!
