Good Morning Lovelies,

Last year, many of us fell for Reverend Richard Cole and all of his actions on screen in I’m A Celebrity. However, away from TV, he is busy making incredible murder mystery novels, which often top the best-seller lists for their gripping nature. Something that has seen them being turned into a new TV series that is a real stand out.

Starring Matthew Lewis of Harry Potter fame and Amanda Redman, Murder Before Evensong, is a six part series that seeks to solve the case of a shocking murder in each episode. Differing from Grantchester, a show many have compared it too, this cosy caper drama has a lighter element to it due to the comical nature of Cole’s writing. Whilst there are dark times, the show is definitely going to be renewed, as it is a real delight to watch.

Lewis’ reverend detective is a loveable character, who presents a man in control of his future, or so he thinks, as he is still very much hoping to please his mother, played by Redman. Upon discovering the body of a local man, he sees it as his chance to prove to her, the village and the clergy just how dedicated he is to them by solving it in his own way.

As each episode plays out, there is a new thread or clue to chase, which makes every minute addictive. Everyone is a suspect and even in the slower moments within the series, mostly at the start, there is always something happening that keeps you second guessing right up until the closing moments. Especially when even more murders start happening.

With a whole host of familiar faces appearing, the show brings a real autumn cosiness that only this time of year can bring. Like opening up an old Agatha Christie novel, Reverend Richard Cole’s adaptation is certain to become a yearly delight and rightly so. There is something so wonderful about it all, even when there are murders taking place, which may seem odd to say but upon watching you will know exactly what I mean.

Fun, fearsome and original, this is a series that is going to grip you in from the first episode and once you reach the end, you will be wanting even more! It is a cosy season must-see!
