Blogmas Day Seven: My Christmas Yearly Favourites

00:05:00

Is there anything better than Christmas? I honestly don’t think so! So many moments in my life have led to some amazing festive memories that I hope to hold dear to me forever! In today’s Blogmas post, I thought I would share some of my favourite moments from the festive season! Find out what memories and items I will always cherish right here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

To me, there are many reasons to love Christmas! Seeing everyone celebrating, whether it be through decorating their homes, singing christmas songs or simply gathering round the fire in their local pub or restaurant brings me utter joy.

Yet, there are a few items that really make my heart happy when it comes to December! These include the following Christmas favourites, which I simply can’t get enough of…

My Favourite Christmas Book - The Gift Of Christmas by Christine Leeson: This book was given to me as a child one Christmas and I refuse to get rid of it. The magical story, gorgeously glossy tree and innocent festive fun is something that still warms my heart every time I see it. It is the heart of Christmas magic in a book.

My Favourite Christmas Podcast - The Calm Christmas Podcast With Beth Kempton: Beth Kempton is someone I stumbled upon on Instagram and was instantly won over by her calming voice and positive energy. Every episode of this podcast teaches you how to stay calm at Christmas whilst also embracing the best of the season. There are also tons of new facts to learn from each themed episode.

My Favourite Christmas Film - Home Alone or Nativity: I couldn’t pick between these two! Both make me feel so warm and cosy inside. As soon as I see one of them on TV or pop them on to watch, I feel like Christmas has really begun. I will watch them both at any time of the year to really cheer myself up.

My Favourite Christmas TV Show - The Original Gavin & Stacey Christmas Special: Going back in time to the first ever Gavin & Stacey festive special is a must every year. I can still recall watching it for the first time with my dad. We both agreed that it was a piece of TV festive magic and now when I see it not only do I love it for what it is but also for the connection it has to my dad and his love for this season.

My Favourite Christmas Food - Christmas Dinner: Although it takes me months to prepare for, I also work hard to have a vegetarian version of our traditional Christmas dinner. I even help my mum where I can in the kitchen. There is something so lovely about being able to join in with a meal together, which I struggle to do normally.

My Favourite Christmas Memory - Classic Childhood Christmas Days: Christmas has always been a big affair in our home and I have loved every single one of them. Especially the ones from my childhood. Waking up early and jumping on my dad to get up, as my mum was already awake and making the house smell amazing with her classic turkey and trimmings. Seeing my grandad falling asleep in the armchair by the gas fire after a big dinner. Sacks of presents everywhere on Christmas Day morning. Silly cracker hats and big Christmas hugs. The season is my favourite time of year and I always feel happier when I am in the midst of it.

Christmas time is definitely my favourite time of the year! Whilst many people struggle with the busy days and cold weather, I find that I really thrive within it. I can’t get enough of seeing people running around buying presents, in shops playing festive songs loudly. Seeing the shelves stocked with gifts and food fills my heart with utter joy.

Just writing this has got my heart beating faster! These memories are what make it skip a beat though! What are your favourite things about this time of year lovelies? Let me know!
