Hosting a Halloween themed dinner party can be very stressful! From deciding which route to take, the traditionally themed or devilishly decadent, a spooky menu can literally be built up of anything! Including these delicious macaroni cheese filled pumpkins that are not only tasty but also a treat for the eyes too! Once you make them, you will be making them every year!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Whilst many of us will be heading to a Halloween party or out trick or treating, some of us, myself included, will be staying home! And that means that everything must be themed around the event at all costs. Including dinner!

Using hardly any ingredients at all, these pumpkins are absolutely incredible to eat, whilst being a real delight to make too. Honestly, they take carving pumpkins to a whole new level.

Get ready to dig out and dig in with these macaroni cheese filled wonders…

Ingredients

Four Small Pumpkins

One Tablespoon of Olive Oil

Salt and Pepper, To Season

500g of Macaroni

400g of Grated Mature Cheddar Cheese

One Litre of Milk

60g of Butter

30g of Plain Flour, To Thicken

Tools

Two Baking Trays

Greaseproof Paper

A Knife

A Spoon

Two Saucepans

Two Mixing Spoons

A Pastry Brush

Method

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 190°c before prepping two baking trays by lining them with greaseproof paper.
  2. Taking a knife, cut the tops of the pumpkins, remove the seeds with a spoon and place onto the trays.
  3. Using a pastry brush, rub the olive oil inside before sprinkling with the salt and pepper.
  4. Place into the oven and cook for 25 to 30 minutes until soft but still holding shape.
  5. Whilst the pumpkins cook, boil the macaroni in a saucepan until tender.
  6. In another saucepan, heat the milk until warm but don’t let it boil. Then add in the cheese until smooth and melted.
  7. Add in the pasta and add in more salt and pepper to season.
  8. When everything is ready, spoon the macaroni cheese into the pumpkins.
  9. Place the pumpkin tops back on top and bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  10. Once ready, place each pumpkin and serve!

These gorgeously ghoulish pumpkins will liven up any special Halloween dinners that you may be having! Honestly, you just can’t go wrong with good old fashioned macaroni cheese! Definitely more of a treat than a trick!
