Five Ways To Have Fun For Free This Halloween
00:00:00Halloween parties have become a big thing since when I was little! However, with many costing a lot to set up and run, I wanted to share a few old school activities that are super fun and free to do at home! Whether you are hosting for big kids or little ones, you will have a super time doing these forever party favourites!
Good Morning Lovelies,
With just over a week to go until Halloween, many of us, myself included, will be thinking about to do to mark the big event. Whilst many of us will opt to take the little people in our lives out trick or treating, all in the hopes to steal a few sweets, lots of us will also be planning a party.
Growing in popularity recently, parties are a great way to keep everyone happy, safe and full of treats, thanks to epic Halloween buffets. However, with so much planning to do, it can be hard to stop and think about what activities to run during it. All leading to a very expensive time potentially. Yet, it doesn’t have to be!
Growing up, my mum and her friends would host great parties for us kids, creating activities that cost little or no money at all. I thought I would share a few of those nostalgic activities to help you all with you planning. I promise there are no tricks with these…
Bobbing For Apples: A real autumn classic! If you have any apples lying around the house, gather them up and pop them into a bowl or bucket. Then allow everyone to have the chance to grab the biggest and best apple. Red ones give a real Evil Queen Style feel.
Horror Film Marathon: Grab everyone and gather in the living room or you bed and binge the best old school horror films. Halloween, Scream, A Nightmare On Elm Street and many more are perfect screeners. If you have little ones, now is the best time to introduce them to the likes of the Addams Family, Hocus Pocus and Casper.
Pumpkin Bowling: If you have an odd pumpkin and a few empty bottles lying around use them to make an at home bowling alley. Simply line the bottles up like skittles before trying to bowl them down with your pumpkin. Then allow everyone person with the highest amount of points could win a big sweet stash.
DIY Costume Contest: Using only items within the house, challenge everyone to make a Halloween costume that they could go out trick or treating in or don to your party. Got an old suit? Pretend to be Mr Bean. Have a few odd socks? Pin them to an old t-shirt and make that your costume idea. When put on the spot, everyone will come up with a fun and crazy idea.
Scavenger Hunt In The Dark: Place spooky themed items around your house and then turn off all the lights. Everyone goes wild when they can’t see what they are doing and it is even spookier when you don’t know where everyone is. You could even turn this into the classic game of murder in the dark. Both are perfect Halloween based fun.
Whether you do head out or not, all of these activities are super fun, free and able to be done at home! A Halloween party doesn’t have to be big and wild! There is so much fun to be had with just a few nostalgic events. And you all know I love about of nostalgia!
