Smoke & Fire Festival - It’s Definitely Smoking Hot: Here’s Our Review!
00:00:00Yesterday, the blog took a trip to the Smoke & Fire Festival in Maldon, Essex, to see what all the heat about it was! And we were incredibly impressed with what we found! From delicious dishes aplenty to beautifully crafted items to buy, the festival is a BBQ lovers dream! Honestly, it has everything your grill could want! Find out about it here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Summer is the season of the BBQ. No other time do we get them out and embrace all the meats to enjoy them at their best. However, when the sun rises for about three months of the year all meals are made on them. And my family loves it!
Therefore, when the blog was kindly invited down to the Smoke & Fire Festival in Maldon, we were all very eager to attend. Heading down on the Sunday, we arrived as soon as it opened at 12pm. Instantly we were hit with the beautiful smells of meat roasting over hot coals. A fact that made us rush to see where the scents were coming from.
With the sounds of Britpop in the air, as the battle of the bands theme vibrated off of the main performing stage, we took in each stall that was dotted around the event, where experts were showing different techniques to help make the best dishes. Whilst also providing everyone with the opportunity to try their creations too.
One of the greatest things about the event is that no matter if you eat meat or not, you will find something to enjoy. The smoking stations give visitors the delights of meat that literally falls about in your mouth, whilst fresh fruit stands and cheese displays offer a touch of something different.
Seeing the meats being cooked made the prices that people were charging for their creations super affordable. A massive bonus for our big family. Plus, the great prices also makes it a foodies dream, as you can enjoy a lot without having to worry too much about spending a lot.
As the day went on, we drifted over to see what other events, stalls and charms that the festival had to offer. In one section, we were enchanted by the beautiful Harley Davison bikes and classic trucks that added a fantastic rustic and authentic biker feel to the event.
In another area, our younger family members were entertained by the funfair attractions and rides that even us older ones loved. While in another action, we took in the stalls that were selling items to take home including chopping boards, spices and ales.
After a few hours, we found the heat of the sun got to us a little bit too much, so we decided to leave. However, not before we captured an eating competition, which we have to admit we were thankful we weren’t part of.
As we finally come away, my uncle decided that he knew exactly what he wanted to do when he retires. A very big decision might I say! Inspired by the event, he wants to make the drums for the BBQs, which as a welder, we all agreed he would be perfect at.
The Smoke & Fire Festival really did make a huge impact and we are so grateful that we were invited to attend it. I would suggest it to all for a fun summer event that will really whet your appetite. We all hope to return next year, especially my uncle, who may just be working it then. Watch this space!
