The Only Dessert Place You Need To Go To Is A Creams Cafe
00:00:00Yesterday, the blog was kindly gifted the opportunity to try the new summer menu at Creams Cafe in Stevenage! With venues based around the UK, we were excited to see what our local one had to deliver! Let’s just say that our family is now a big fan of Creams! Find out why and what we loved so much at Creams right here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
For a long time, I had seen the Cream Cafe around. From local spots to holiday destinations, they have been on my family’s radar for a while. Yet, none of us had ever been in one. Therefore, when I was kindly invited to try my local restaurant in Stevenage, I couldn’t say no.
Having got an appointment at the local hospital beforehand, me and my mum were excited by the prospect of going to the venue afterwards. With a £25 in hand, we were able to find the venue easily, as it was based in our local Tesco’s. Something I’ve seen many of them be in.
Away from the noise of the main shop and its own cafe, the Creams Cafe in Stevenage was welcoming from the moment we arrived. Run by two staff members, we were quickly greeted before we were offered a booth and their new summer menu to read.
Knowing that we wanted to try as much as we could, me and my mum took a long time deciding on what to have. To the point that the venue had got a bit of a lunch break rush. This led to us asking if it would be okay to take our items away with us to get the ultimate ate tasting experience, which the team were happy to accommodate.
We had known previously that they were able to deliver, as we had spotted them on a few food delivery services. After tasting the food, we were happy about this, as we all agreed that we would order from them again to our home. Especially if we were in need of a sweet treat.
Before we could take our items away though, we had to put our order in. Going with two lunch time savoury items, with two dessert like options and a drink to share, we felt very fancy with what we picked. For my mum, she opted for the BBQ Chicken Hot Pocket, whilst we both decided on the Popcorn Chicken Waffle Bites.
When it came to the dessert selection, we again agreed together on a White Chocolate Cookie Dough option, as well as a Smarties On Choc Doughnut. All topped off with a Strawberries & Cream Frappe. The most perfect lunch if I may say so!
After processing our order, the team got to work on it right away. During this time, I had a real look around the cafe and fell in love with the fun decor of the place. There was a bike hanging from the ceiling. Skateboards too. As well as fun lights and sayings all around. The feel of the venue made me excited to see the food creations we were waiting for.
In under 10 minutes, everything had been made, boxed and bagged. Taking the bag off the staff members, we thanked them a lot before heading out the door. Whilst all of the food made it home, the frappe didn’t, as we couldn’t wait to sample it. The red sauce was calling us.
Using the big straws provided, the drink didn’t stay around for long. Made from fresh strawberries, milk and ice before being topped off with whipped cream, and strawberry flavoured syrup, it was summer in a cup.
Honestly, forget strawberries and cream at Wimbledon. In our house, it is now all about this drink. Every sip was authentic. You could truly taste the refreshing nature of it. When we got to the end, we wanted to go back for another as it was that good.
With our stomachs lined with sweet goodness, we couldn’t wait to immediately get stuck in to the savoury items once home. Reheating them for a little bit in the microwave, we placed the Popcorn Chicken Waffle Bites in front of us first. Made up of bite sized southern fried chicken breast chunks coated in the iconic Creams waffle batter and served with BBQ sauce, which could have been maple syrup if we wanted, we were amazed at how well the flavours all blended together.
The sweet with the savoury caused a taste explosion, which when topped with the BBQ sauce made them incredibly irresistible. Once you started in on them, you couldn’t stop. In fact, I think my mum would have started a fight to protect her share of them. Again, we both agreed that when we return, these will definitely be reordered. They beat normal popcorn chicken any day of the week.
Having used the waffle bites as a bite of a starter dish, we quickly moved on to the BBQ Chicken Hot Pocket. New to their savoury range, the pocket looked like a pancake calzone. But on an even more epic scale, due to the Creams Signature Sauce and parsley topping.
Inside the crepe parcel was a warming mixture of chicken in BBQ sauce, cheese, vegetables and then more cheese, which when mixed together created an out of this world taste explosion in our mouths. Having reheated the crepe before eating, the cheese oozed out perfectly, whilst the sauce bubbled just right to give the chicken that melting texture.
No longer will we be opting for normal plain wraps. It is now all about the crepe kind in own house. Honestly, Creams have revolutionised everything we thought we knew. They have made an epic game changer with their hot pocket range. And their cookie dough selection too.
With a crepe and waffle having been devoured in very different ways to what we would normally have them like, we were ready to go with a more classic style dessert. Oozing in silky smooth white chocolate sauce and shavings, the Creams White Chocolate Cookie Dough, which was topped with a cute wafer, scented our home in the most delightful aromas.
All before delighting our tongues with the most gooey, gorgeous flavours. We all declared that we don’t think we had ever had cookie dough quite like it. Every bite made us moan in pure ecstasy. Honestly, when it was gone, I think we all had a look of sadness in our eyes, which we only got over thanks to the Smarties On Choc Doughnut we picked up.
Splitting it in half, we dipped it into the oozing white chocolate sauce that had been spread on top. Smarties had never looked or tasted so good to us as they did in that moment. You don’t often see them on doughnuts but boy do they deserve to be on them.
Giving off the right amount of crunch, they went perfectly with the moist dough that wasn’t oily or stodgy. As a doughnut super fan family, it delighted us all in every single way. Whoever at Creams came up with it was definitely a smarty themselves.
Overall, our experience with Creams Cafe in Stevenage was amazing. We have been eagerly looking up other sites we can go back to compare even more items. Honestly, I could not recommend them enough. Fun, affordable and super tasty, you couldn’t ask for more! If you get the chance to visit your local Creams Cafe do it lovelies! Your mouth, tummy and mind will thank you for it! Ours definitely did!
