00:30:00The summer holidays are fast approaching and that means that we will soon have to find fun ways to keep the little ones entertained! Something we can all do is look back to our childhoods to get inspired, as loads of classic toys are coming back to bring a sense of nostalgic fun! Find out which ones will brighten your summer right here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Toys are something that I still find myself getting excited about! I love the whole process of getting them out the box, putting them together and spending hours playing with them. Especially if I have the little ones in my family to help me! However, I will say that my LEGO is untouchable aha!
With the summer holidays fast approaching, it is that time again where we have to come up with ways to keep them entertained. This year, I am turning to my childhood for inspiration. Going back as far as my mum’s childhood in fact, to get ideas. A process that was made super easy thanks to some familiar faces.
Kindly gifted to me to have a little play with before writing, I can’t wait to celebrate the following five legends with my nephew and his friends this summer. They are toys that will keep them entertained for hours and I hope they will help you and your family have loads of fun too! It’s time to turn back the clock and embrace these wonders again…
Basic Fun Tetris Classics Retro Mini Arcade Machine, £29.99: Growing up, I would spend hours in the arcade where we had our caravan. I loved the thrill of the 2p machines, teddy grabbers and the iconic pinball inspired games. Including Tetris. Years later, the game has finally been made for us all to be able to enjoy it at home! Teach the little ones all about the wonders of Tetris with this fantastic miniature version. Just be warned, you will get addicted to it!
Care Bears Grumpy Bear, £20: Everybody loves Care Bears! When I was younger, I can remember having the pink and yellow ones, which I carried around everywhere. Back with a refreshed look, these gorgeous bears are still as lovable and deserve to be passed down throughout the generations still. It will even make Grumpy Bear happy!
Tonka Steel Classics Mighty Dump Truck, £39.99: Made with real steel, this beautifully shiny truck is made to last. Having been around for years, one truck can last a lifetime. My mum even claimed that they use to say an elephant could stand on a toy and it would break. Whilst I don’t know if that is true or not, this is a toy that can be passed down to generations forever when scooped up.
K'nex Amazing 8 Roller Coaster Motorised Construction Set, £39.99: I love to build things, as does my nephew who is about to turn ten. Bringing this out, I felt nostalgic and he was intrigued. With a super fast motor, the added element of electrics made this a toy that kept us both entertained for hours. From the building process to the playing, I could feel my childhood coming back to life whilst using it.
Lite Brite Ultimate Classic Peg Art Set with Lights, £15: Created in the 60s, Lite Brite is still holding on strong. Whether you had a handed down version or one of the original kinds, these modern versions are super fun to play with. Lighting up your pictures or messages, they are great fun to help inspire little ones to get creative.
Retro toys are always the best and these prove it lovelies! As a 90s child, I loved the way that these made me feel like a little kid again. I’m sure they will make your summer holidays a whole lot more entertaining for both you and your little ones too! The classics are always the best after all!
