My Family’s Favourite Chocolate Brands! Did Yours Make The List?
00:00:00From crisps to biscuits, we have had some battles in our house recently, all because we can’t decide which is best! There so, I thought I would only further these arguments by sharing what chocolate bars we think are the best ones around! Not in order but equally loved, find out what my family enjoys and see if you agree with us here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
The moment I was allowed a bit of chocolate I loved it! Our local corner shop was often left a little bit empty after a visit from me and my brother, as we would go wild buying our favourite ones. However, when it came to picking an ultimate option for this post, we weren’t as easily able to pick one out!
After discussing our favourite crisps, ice creams and biscuits, I thought I would share my family’s recent options for the best chocolate bars in the UK! In no set order, the following our the ultimate delights to us! Discover which ones we love below and see if you agree…
Twix: Two biscuit and caramel bars in one packet, these are the ultimate snack chocolate of choice. Honestly, they can do no wrong. They feel like two products in one with the shortbread base and sweet chocolate and caramel topping. Pure perfection in both the milk and white options.
Smarties: Every little kid in the UK will remember the joy of getting a tube of these coated beauties. Still a firm favourite in our house, my mum can enjoy a tube in seconds.
Twirl/Flake: Whether it is a crumbly Flake or a coated version, these are key staples in the UK. Especially a Flake in a 99 ice cream. You can’t beat these for a hit of chocolate sweetness in summer.
Dairy Milk Bars: It could be the Fruit & Nut kind or a plain Dairy Milk bar but whatever it is they are all heroic. They can make a day better in simply seconds! A bar or a few squares just makes a day better in so many ways.
Toblerone: MY FAVOURITE! Honestly, I couldn’t hold back when there was a Toblerone around. Those little triangles of pure beauty should be knighted for their wonders and positive mark on the world. My goal is to be able to enjoy this chocolate again soon.
Freddo: When I was little, these little frog shaped chocolates were under 10p. Now hitting the near to £1, they are still as good as they were back then. So much so that they are worth every penny of the extra cost.
Kinder Eggs/Bars: Not only do these taste amazing but you also get a toy with them! I used to get the big ones for Easter, which I think is where my overwhelming love for the Kinder brand comes from.
Mars: It is only in recent years that I have come to truly love a Mars bar! The soft nougat and caramel encased in chocolate just know how to hit all the right spots. Even the mini versions are good.
Galaxy: I used to say that Cadbury’s were the ultimate chocolate makers. However, in recent years, I have found that I prefer a Galaxy a lot of the time. It has a creamier taste to it that lasts on your tongue for ages giving off an endlessly pleasant taste.
Malteasers: Iconic! Whether they come in a box, rabbit form or a bag, you can’t get much better than these gorgeous little malt balls. Pop them in a sweet mix and they will be the first to go.
Aero: If you asked my brother or neighbour the best Aero kind it would the mint. For me, I love the plain bar. Those little light bubble filled bars are fantastic fit the whole family. They melt easily on the tongue so well.
Snickers: I will admit that I haven’t had a Snickers bar in years, however, my mum still has them regularly. A bit like a Mars bar, the added element of nuts gives it the individuality it deserves.
Curly Wurly: My mum always loves digging into a pack of these, so we were brought up to love them. They go great as an alternative to a Flake in ice cream lovelies! Give it a whirl.
Minstrels: Another elite option when it comes to picking a chocolate snack, I would always have these when I would go to the cinema. The crisp coating with the inner smooth chocolate is heaven on earth.
Toffee Crisp: Not many people appreciate a Toffee Crisp. However, when I was younger I would love getting bars of these to snack on. The added crisp rice cereals just took the eating experience to a new level.
Milkybar: Whether you are four or forty, these bars of white chocolate are chefs kiss. In both a bar or button form, everyone loves them and our family is some of the brands biggest fans.
Cadbury Fudge: I think me and my brother inherited our love of this bar from my dad. We would all fight to have them when given selection boxes at Christmas. I think there was even some hiding of bars at times, just so we could be the ones to eat them.
Milkyway Magic Stars: I am going to admit something now. Back in the day, I couldn’t demolish a whole bag of these in one go. I know that you may be asking how I didn’t get sick, but honestly I loved them so much I think my body was just accepting of their magic.
Rolo: Does anyone else forget these little round bites? Pop them in the fridge and they are easily restored in your brain as being some of the best chocolates around.
Milkyway: Another childhood favourite, these light and airy nougat filled bars are a simply classic. One that you can never forget the beautiful taste of.
Bounty: Many people hate a Bounty. However, in our house, we all love them! Honestly, if you put a multipack in front of my dad, he would have finished them by the end of the day. There are also none of these left in the Celebration tins at Christmas either.
Daim: A Daim bar is one of those chocolates that you don’t have in ages but when you do they just transport you to a place of wonder. That perfect crunch. The sweetest caramel. The added almond pieces. It’s just wonderful in so many ways.
Crunchie: Mixing honeycomb and Cadbury’s chocolate is always a recipe for success. The brand makes the golden syrup into a work of tastebud art. You just can’t go wrong with a Crunchie.
Yorkie: When I was little, this brand used to state that it wasn’t for women. Yet, I’ve always been one to rebel and enjoy them. Definitely an underrated legend in the chocolate game.
M&Ms: My favourite kind of M&Ms are the crispy ones, whilst my mum adores the peanut kind. The brand has made an option for everyone to enjoy. I stand firm though by stating that the crispy kind are the best no matter what.
Picnic: The mixture of nuts, chocolate and biscuit combine all the best things within this chocolate bar. Just watch out if you eat these are they have been in the fridge, as you could lose a tooth.
What chocolate bar is your favourite lovelies? Let me know, as I would love to hear what you enjoy tucking into! However, I will admit that I can’t stand a Hershey’s, so I won’t be adding that to the list aha! Any others you love I definitely will do though!
