The Ultimate Crisps According To My Family!
00:00:00We have had the countdown for biscuits and ice creams! Now it is time for my mum’s favourite snack of all time…Crisps! Growing up, we had a dedicated box that housed our favourites, which would differ all the time amongst us! Find out which ones come out on top amongst my family and friends before letting me know your favourites right here lovelies!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Crisps! Who doesn’t love them? Even though I have become scared of them, I can fully remember the classic tastes of many and will always appreciate the memories that come with a great packet.
Growing up, we had a box on the floor of our cupboard, which would have all the classics in it. Grabbing the best ones with brothers would be hard, however, with my mum on my side, I would always get first dibs. And it was safe to say that it would almost always be a packet of cheese and onion, prawn cocktail or one of the following in the list below that I would pick out.
The list has been created with much discussions amongst our family, and whilst it isn’t in order, I thought I would share our favourite crisps of all time…
Hula Hoops: There is only one way to eat these! Each finger must have a ring round it before you pop each one into your mouth. If you don’t agree then you weren’t taught how to eat these halo crisp gems right aha! It doesn’t matter what flavour you have, they were all epic.
Quavers: Whenever I am ill, I always want or wanted a packet of these. A yellow slice of cheesy heaven, they remind me of being little and snacking on them in the back of my dad’s car. Something I’ve witnessed my nephew recreate too. You simply can’t beat these curly wonders.
Skips: A rare find nowadays, Skips remind me of sitting in my best friend Tessa’s bed discussing how to eat them. Of course, the right way to do so is by popping a little shell onto your tongue and letting it sizzle away until it is soft and chewy. A great lunchbox staple that deserves a big comeback.
Wotsits: No one dislikes a Wotsit! These orange wonders are a peace of heaven on earth, even if they stain your fingers. I will not let anyone say a Cheeto is better, as these are a classic that reigns supreme! My mum has even had them in tomato soup before lovelies.
McCoy’s Classics: We always knew in our house that we were being spoilt by our parents if these appeared in the box, as they used to be so expensive. The Steak or Cheese & Onion ones were the best in my family’s opinion.
Discos: Who didn’t used to love these when they were little? I loved the Prawn Cocktail and Cheese & Onion ones best, however, the Salt & Vinegar ones had a little bit of magic about them too. They were the only Salt & Vinegar crisp I ever really enjoyed.
Nik Naks: It has to be the Rib ‘n’ Saucy kind, the ones in the purple packet, when it comes to Nik Naks being worthy to be on this list. They were the company used to make a cheesy creamy kind, which were epic, however these were always the best of the bunch and I won’t hear any different aha!
Pom-Bears: Every British child would have had a packet of these. It’s sad to think that as adults we don’t appreciate them more because they are truly a great crisp. Plus, not many crisps come in fun shapes like these do. That little bear is a real cutie for everyone to love.
French Fries: If you gave me a packet of these in the Cheese & Onion flavour back in the day and I would have loved you for life. These were always the first crisp choice that I would ask for growing up and I loved every single bite. If you have never had a French Fries crisp before then I order you to go to the shop and buy a packet right now lovelies.
Walkers Baked: There is a reason that they said these were good for you, which was because they tasted so good. Again it was the Cheese & Onion kind that came out tops. However, I have to warn you all that one bag can lead to more. They are so moorish!
Squares: Who else thinks that these crisps are under appreciated? The tiny little squares sure did pack a punch when it came to flavour. I wish we celebrated them more. Go forth and grab a packet to celebrate their wonders lovelies as soon as you can and rejoice in the memories they bring.
Wheat Crunchies: It was a bit of an argument between us all whether we preferred the Bacon ones of these or Frazzles. Yet, these tiny tubes came out on top. Fair enough, you would be burping bacon flavours all week after having a packet, but it is totally worth it for now good it is.
Onion Rings: Not normally one to appear on a best crisps post, yet, I absolutely used to love these. They were the kind of big bag that once you opened and started them you couldn’t stop eating. Although, it was best to do this kind of snacking when you knew that no one was going to be coming near you.
Jacob’s Crinkles: In my last years at primary school, we went on a few trips to the Isle of Wight. During our time there, I honestly think that I lived off of these from the tuck shop. I couldn’t stop devouring them and begged my mum to get us them when I got home. Those little green Cheese & Onion packets are a true hit of nostalgia for me when I see them.
Doritos: The cheesy ones may be elite, however, I have always loved the Cool Original kind. The blue packets would often be the first ones to go when they were in our box growing up. In fact, I would ask my mum to hide them from my brothers for me.
Pringles: It is so true what they say about these crisps! Once you start you really can’t stop! Growing up, a tube would be something brought out at parties or at Christmas. Then as we got older, they were something that we regularly had in our cupboard. From the classic Sour Cream & Chive to my favourite Prawn Cocktail ones, we love all of them a lot.
You know what would make these even more elite lovelies? Placing them between two slices of buttered bread for the ultimate crisp sandwich! Who else is with me? If so, which one are you pick lovelies? What is your ultimate crisp choice? Let me know!
