The Best Biscuits In The UK According To Our Home!

00:00:00

Biscuits! A real staple in our home! Since I was little, my family had always had an open door policy on our biscuit tin! Honestly, there was no limit on how many we could have, with tea to dunk them! There so, I thought I would share my list of the best biscuits in my opinion! Be prepared to visit the biscuit aisle!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Starting my ED recovery process has been a real journey for me! Trying to reconnect with the foods I used to eat will forever be hard. However, something I am grateful I have managed to attempt to get back into is biscuits.

To help me not look at the packets, I started by buying boxes of broken ones from Iceland, which really helped me reconnect with what I liked and didn’t. I didn’t know the brands, so I couldn’t lookup the calories. All I could do was try them and see if 8 liked them or not.

By doing this, I found it a lot easier to try and add them back into my day to day life. Luckily, many of the ones I used to love are still staple classics for me and so I thought I would share my favourites with you all! Get those biscuit tins ready to be filled with these beauties…

McVities HobNobs: The ultimate dunker! Whether it be a plain one or a chocolate one, these are forever the top choice within our house. I won’t lie, I find them terrifying still to eat. However, when I do, I absolutely love them! My top choice every time!

Fig Rolls: When a packet of these gets open all bets are off in our home! Honestly, they don’t last long at all. I think every single member of my family has eaten a whole packet in one

sitting before.

Fruit Shortcake: I love these but I also had to include these in honour of my best friend Dee, who can get through a whole packet in one sitting. I’m so proud of her every time that she does it! In fact, I happily keep her tea cup topped up so she can enjoy them best.

Fox’s Golden Crunch Cream: I have the broken biscuit boxes to thank for these! Honestly, the soft nature of the two biscuits sandwiching the beautiful vanilla cream is heaven on earth.

Fox’s Jam ‘n’ Cream: You all know how much I love jam, so when it is paired with a soft biscuit it’s bliss. Again, these are a packet that can be finished in one go once opened around my family.

Custard Creams: I had to feature these in honour of my dad! I used to grab a few for him to eat every morning in bed with a cup of black coffee. In fact, I think it was the last thing I ever saw him eat. We all loved to dunk them in a cup of tea and they will always be my reminder of those cosy days.

Malted Milk: A childhood staple, I think I was given these as soon as I could eat solid foods. They make me feel so happy, like I am snuggled up with my mum on the sofa again, when I manage to have one.

Fox’ Golden Crunch Biscuits: You don’t get packets of these anymore, so I haven’t had one in years. I know they are in the Family Circle collection, but it’s not the same. If you do find them in your local shops, grab a packet and enjoy their creaminess for me.

Shortbread: A Christmas memory in every bite! I don’t think there has ever been a Christmas in my life that we haven’t got a tin of these. I haven’t been brave enough to have one with my ED but I will forever love them due to my past.

Chocolate Digestive: Another selection in honour of my childhood and also to my best friend Tessa. We would always spend the mornings after a late night or sleepover where we hadn’t slept at all eating these. They were probably our breakfast of choice back when we were teenagers aha!

Shortcake: I don’t know what it is about these biscuit tin staples but I really do love these! I think it comes down to their dunkability but also their creamy sweet taste too. You just have to have them in an old fashioned biscuit tin.

Party Rings: No and I mean NO childhood party is ever complete unless it features Party Rings! To eat these, you have to stick them on your fingers and bite around. A classic in every single way that continues to reign supreme at parties!

Go Ahead Fruit Slices: These biscuits have a very special place in my heart. I am able to enjoy these happily now and I am thankful for the confidence that they have given me to enjoy biscuits again.

Bahlsen Milk Chocolate Biscuits: Back in the day, these were known as being posh biscuits. I would always be so thankful when I was allowed to put a pack of them in the shopping trolley. I would try and limit myself to only a few a day, as there is only nine in a packet, but they are soooo good. You have to bite all the chocolate off first and then eat the butter biscuits afterwards.

Lotus Biscoff: Who doesn’t love a Lotus biscuit?!? The little biscuits are so rich in caramel flavours but absolutely gorgeous. Perfect with a cup of tea gorgeous!

This list isn’t in an order lovely, however, they all deserve a place in your kitchen or biscuit tin! What one is your ultimate favourite lovelies? I’ll go pop the kettle on while you tell me!
