My New Nightly Routine For 2025

00:00:00

Bedtime is an odd time of the day for me! I am someone who comes alive at night and I often forget the time and end up staying awake for most of it. This leads to a lot of suffering the next day! However, I’ve made a lot of changes recently and I thought I would share my new nightly routine with you!

Good Morning Lovelies,

I am going to hold my hands up and admit that recently I have been struggling! My anxiety, ED and autism were making me really hate myself and because of this I was struggling to sleep. I was literally not going up to bed until around 5am then getting back up at 10:30 or 11am. Something that really angered me.

After discussing the situation with my ED therapist, she has truly helped me though, as we set a new routine in place. Aiming to get up to bed by 2:30am at the latest, I now have a whole new routine to follow to allow me to get more rest, a better schedule and greater eating habits.

Therefore, I thought I would share with you all my new night time beauty and health regime to let you all in on what I have been doing to get better this month. Read on to find out how I now unwind each night…

7pm: As soon as I get in, I pop on my PJs and get my breakfast ready for the next day. Knowing what I am having helps me to prepare mentally for what I am going to eat and how I will have it.

8pm: Around this time, I like to take a prebiotic before I eat. I started taking these after I was placed on a lot of antibiotics and they have really helped my stomach settle down.

9pm: I like to do a number of puzzles to help my brain tire down a bit and not overreact. I am a bit of a whizz now when it comes to a Crossword or Arrowword puzzle book.

10pm: As I get older, I am starting to appreciate my skin a lot more. Before bed, I make sure to wash my face with some gentle soap. I then apply a cleansing lotion, some steroid cream to prevent spots and dry skin and a bit of lip balm to repair any damage to my skin.

11pm: Before I go to bed, I like to eat and drink something. This helps to make sure that my body stays happy and unstressed whilst I sleep. I love a hot Ribena or Vimto to cosy up with at night.

12pm - 2:30am: Around this time to help me drift off, I will read my book or find something to watch. I normally find either my tablet or book lying on my face in bed most mornings after falling asleep enjoying what I have been.

I know to many that 2:30am may still seem a little late, however, for me it is a big improvement. Fingers crossed that I can keep making positive steps like this lovelies! As always, slow and steady wins the race!
