Blogmas Day 19: Five Fun Alternative Ways To Enjoy The Festive Season
00:00:00If there is ever a time to get silly, it is at Christmas! From bright jumpers to funny family festivities, there is always time to have a good time this season! Throughout December, I very rarely spend a day not having kitchen discos with my mum wearing silly Christmas PJs! Why not enjoy a fun filled day doing one of these alternative ideas!
Good Morning Lovelies,
It is a fact known around the world that Christmas should be spent having fun and being silly. However, for many of us, that fun aspect can get lost amongst all the preparations. Yet, I’ve decided to bring you all a whole host of entertaining ways to bring back the joy of Christmas.
Many of them cost nothing at all to do, just a little preparation, not that much though. So, get ready for the fun to begin immediately doing one of these epic adventures…
Spend The Day Living Like An Elf: Change your entire home into a Santa’s Workshop, setting up designated areas for each task. Turn your dining room table into a wrapping station. Your kitchen into a bakery. Your living room into a cosy restroom. Then dress up in your finest elf wear and enjoy the roles given to you throughout the day. The workshops will allow for all those sometimes boring tasks to be fun for the whole family.
Make A Personal Festive Museum: Instead of putting up the normal Christmas decorations, why not set up a museum of things from Christmas past? Hang photos in an art gallery format to show images from festive years gone by. Put out old style decorations and point them out to the family in a fun way with little plaques from what decade they came from. Our home would definitely be a 90s museum for certain.
24 Hour Christmas PJ Challenge: Who wants to get dressed and go out when it’s cold outside? Even when I have to venture out in this dark weather, the first thing I do when I get home is put my PJs back on. Spend a festive day putting on a new pair and hosting a Christmas PJ fashion show every hour. Keep your best ones for dinner and make it seem like you are going out for a fancy meal, even if it is only being eaten on the sofa or in bed.
Celebrate A Worldwide Christmas Every Hour: Spend a day spending celebrating Christmas how it is spent in another country every hour. Fancy KFC? Have dinner the way that Japan does. Watch Donald Duck and His Friends Wish You a Merry Christmas like they do in Sweden. Hide all the brooms in your home like they do in Norway. There are literally so many fun traditions to do each hour. Just wrap up if you decide to go outside and recreate a BBQ like they do in Australia if you live in a cold country.
Alternative Christmas Time Capsule: Instead of giving out gifts this year, keep one behind and place it in a time capsule for the next year. By the time Christmas 2025 comes around you maybe surprised by what you put in. You could even change it and make it a letter to Santa based capsule.
What are some of the fun ways that you like to spend a festive filled day? For me, it is racing around on Christmas Eve, just watching all the madness occur. I simply love it! I do love the idea of celebrating a day in December around the world though, so I may just have to make that a new fun way to enjoy this season this Christmas!
