Lizi’s Granola Is The Ultimate Breakfast Brightness You Need!

00:00:00

Cereal will always be the ultimate breakfast winner for me! I love all kinds, as does my family! From Cornflakes to granola, we can’t get enough of the stuff! Especially in winter, when we like to warm ourselves up with a bowlful filled with warm milk! Therefore, we were very excited to try the new winter wonders from Liza’s Granola on the blog!

Good Morning Lovelies,

If you are reading this in the morning, are you having it over a bowl of cereal? Or maybe you are having a midnight feast with a bowlful? Either way is a winner in my eyes! Every day, I look forward to my warming bowl of cereal, whether it be Cornflakes with honey and blackberries or Rice Krispies warmed up with a dollop of jam. I even have porridge and honey for dinner at least once a week. I simply can’t get enough of the stuff.

I often say that it was cereal that kept me alive when I was in the deepest parts of my eating disorder. Trying new kinds was a lot easier for me when I first started recovery because I wanted to go back to my childhood mornings eating bowls of the stuff. However, lots has changed since then, including the kinds of cereal that I eat now.

Whilst I still love the ones that used to bring me joy everyday, I also have a huge appreciation for the more adult kinds. The muesli and granola section is one that brings me great interest. As well as my mum, who loves a bowl of nutty goodness with her favourite fruity yogurts.

Therefore, when Lizi’s Granola got in touch to see if I would like to trial some of their flavours, both my mum and I got excited. Arriving in a very fancy box, we were kindly gifted the Low Sugar and Organic products to try. Both of which arriving just in time for breakfast.

Having seen what flavours they were before my mum, as she was in the shower, I decided it was time to put her taste buds to the test first. Starting with the low sugar kind. With less than 2g of sugar per 50g serving, the granola includes rich oats, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, nuts and desiccated coconut all rolled in black treacle to give a hearty start to your day that provides a whole host of goodness.

Popping some plain Greek yogurt on top of a bowl, I quickly handed the first serving of the two to my mum. As soon as she took a bite, I could hear the satisfying crunch of the nuts, which were huge by the way. Talking me through the experience, my mum stated that the oats had a flapjack like taste, which made them super tasty. The nuts were big but easily digestible in a pleasant way, meaning she didn’t hurt her teeth on them. A real win for her though was the addition of the coconut, which she said gave her that tropical feel on a cold morning.

Whilst telling me all of this, I got to work on the organic taste test. Making it just like before, I popped the bowl in front of her again. Made entirely from organic ingredients, something Lizi’s strives to do, the granola included toasted rolled oats, nuts and seeds all rolled in organic Mexican agave syrup and black treacle to give another rich flavour punch. A taste that made my mum moan in delight, as she declared it just as good as the previous one.

Something that was different about this product though was that it had been organically GL tested to keep diners free from sugar highs and lows. When I told my mum about this, she stated that you could tell, as it definitely filled her up, which was what she wanted, as she works very long days with few breaks.

Having had many different granola brands in the past, we now feel that for our health, Liza’s is definitely a secure choice. With organic ingredients, lower sugar options abd plenty of big bold ingredients to enjoy, we are now debating whether to make it an option on our festive breakfast table if guests come. However, we just might not be able to share it!

With lots of different options to pick from, Lizi’s is in many stores and online lovelies, so take a look there to find the right one for you! The hardest bit will be picking which one to buy though, as they all taste fabulous! I swear on the granola gods!
