Our Dreamy Lucky Cat By Gordon Ramsay In Manchester Review!
00:30:00Last night, the blog’s dreams come true, as we were kindly invited to sample the amazing dishes at Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat restaurant in Manchester! And it is safe to say that we were so incredible amazed that I think we are still in awe of what we had and experience for life now! Find out what we ate, drank and enjoyed here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Today, the blog is in a state of wonder! After being kindly gifted an opportunity to review the new Gordon Ramsay restaurant Lucky Cat in Manchester, we descended into the city last night to find the stuff, well food and drinks, which dreams are truly made of! Honestly, it is an experience that will stay with us forever!
After preparing ourselves for the experience, we arrived at the most stunning building, which is actually an old bank, with excitement in our stomachs. Upon giving the front of house staff member our names, we were led into the main dining area, which was absolutely gorgeous. With exquisite details, gorgeous furniture and wonder our features, it was truly stunning.
Sitting down, our hosts, who were incredible all night, presented us with the drinks menu. We were interested in finding out their suggestions, which they provided with expert knowledge. Taking on board what they said, we opted for the Polynesian Punch and Kakigori cocktails, which were the perfect palate cleansers.
The Polynesian Punch was made up of the most refreshing havana spiced rum, la hechicera reserva familiar rum, aluna coconut rum, mango, pineapple, lime and angostura bitters, whilst the Kakigori included Absolut elyx vodka, passion fruit, spicy mango, pineapple and citrus juices served over shaved ice in the traditional Japanese "kakigori" style. We honestly could have drunk so many of these, yet, we paced ourselves to be able to enjoy the first dishes chosen for us.
Upon arrival, our hosts had stated that it would be best to try six to seven different meals off the menu. Together, we decided to let them opt for us for the night, as we knew that they would be able to pick the best dishes available. The first being two of the best meals we had ever had.
Made fresh, right in front of our eyes in fact, we were first presented with the Duck bao buns, which our host shredded the meat for in front of us. Popping them into the fluffy fresh buns, the mixture was made perfect with the added thick sauce, which made them ooze in goodness.
We weren’t sure if the next dish of Korean chicken with a lime twist could beat it. Yet, upon our first bite, the pair equally matched. The chicken was tender, falling apart in our mouths in the most perfect of ways. The sauce was spicy but gorgeous. We both stated upon finishing the dishes that we didn’t know how they were going to be beaten.
Yet, when the crispy pork and glass noodles dishes arrived next, we shouldn’t have worried. Both brought new heights to the meal, giving off a stir fry feel from lands far and wide. The noodles were so soft that they were t down with ease, whilst the crispy pork presented just the right levels of crunch that made them heavenly to taste.
After a little break, where we were given glasses of a beautifully rich Japanese beer to help cleanse our mouths, we were given the most mightiest of courses. Handmade in front of us, our server first showed us their in house egg fried rice dish, which came to life right in front of our eyes. Interested to see what it was going to be paired with, our hosts exceeded all our expectations by bringing out the stunning Wagyu steak and tender lamb cutlets.
Dishing up each piece, we both moaned in agreement that it was the best and I mean the BEST steak we had ever had! It literally fell to pieces in our mouths, which when mixed with the gorgeous spices and fresh egg fried rice made for a taste explosion that we would never forget. Honestly, nothing will ever compare to it from now on!
As we took the final bites, we couldn’t speak due to the wonders of what we were eating. Sitting back to let it settle, we took in our surroundings in true awe of everything we were experiencing. Once an old bank, the building still reflects what it would have been like, right down to the toilets.
Giving guests the chance to experience the classic vibes that the restaurant represents, the building also provides a private dining area with the vaults of the old bank, which we were lucky to have a tour of. It would be worth every penny to pay to dine in there lovelies just from its atmosphere! I promise you!
Taking our seats again, we were handed the dessert menu, as well as being advised to pick a coffee or tea to end the night with too. Picking a flat white and cappuccino to wash our puddings down with, we chose the Elderflower honey and Japanese Citrus Soufflé to end an already epic meal with. Both were like clouds that had fallen from heaven!
After spending over two hours at the restaurant, the puddings topped off what was already an incredible evening. Both of us agreed that we want to go back already, as Lucky Cat is a restaurant that dreams are made of! You could not beat the food, drinks or experience. The staff were exceptional and took care of us in every single way. If we could, we both agreed that we would live there! It wasn’t just the cats that were lucky but us too, as Gordon and his team have made something that everyone needs to experience! Lucky Cat is a true food wonder of the world!

Sooo lucky you were invited to Lucky Cat! I'm a huge fan of Gordon Ramsay. I remember dining at Hell's Kitchen in Vegas and it was some of the best food I've ever had - definitely worth the $$$! Would love to check out a Ramsay restaurant if we ever visited the UK.
