It has been a bit of a bleak start to the summer hasn’t it lovelies? From rain, storms and strong winds to gloomy dark mornings, it seems like that plane ride to sunnier climates can’t come quick enough.

Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Törzs: This book follows two sisters, as they must navigate a fantasy filled world to deliver their families magical books. You will be left spellbound from the first page. 

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: This classic YA book has been enchanting fans since its release. Head to Cousins Beach and spend time with Conrad, Belly and Jeremiah, as they navigate first love and teen angst. 

Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors: Mellors is back with an epic new story. As three sisters navigate their grief, they uncover many new feelings, emotions and stories about each other along the way. All of which that could affect each of them and their relationships forever. 

A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson: Having recently been turned into a TV series on the BBC, this YA book captures a young girl trying to uncover the truth about a murder at her school. What she finds though could lead to further horrors. Read with the teens in your life to be able to discuss it. 

Wild Love by Elsie Silver: This isn’t just one love story. No it is four love stories in one. Get your fill of summer romances with this book that has taken the world by storm online. 

The Story of Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson: Years and years ago, when I first ever got a library card in the school summer holidays, this was the first story I took out of Hertford Library.  Now, I would love another person to discover it for the first time. 

A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting by Sophie Irwin: If you love Bridgerton then this book is for you! Uncover a new world of regency, as one woman seeks to find her true place in society.

Seven Summers by Paige Toon: Liv and Finn have made a promise to each other. To spend every summer together if they are both single. However, when Liv meets Tom, everything change. The summer of love and heartbreak is in full swing here. 

Our Holiday by Louise Candlish: If you have ever dreamed of owning a holiday home, you may decide against it after reading this. When a couple find themselves becoming neighbours with their good friends at a retreat, they are soon faced with trouble, as a number of crimes take place around them that could threaten everything. 

It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover: Adapted into a film, which will be released this summer, discover how a florists world is changed completely when she falls for a mystery man quickly. Their happy ending isn’t all as it seems though and soon their blooming love story takes a tragic turn. 

Book of the Month - Four Seasons In Japan by Nick Bradley: This is a tale that celebrates reading, stories and the worlds that they can transport us too. When Flo finds a book on her daily commute, she finds herself chasing the characters and places that they explore. Such a feel good story!
