It has been a bit of a bleak start to the summer hasn’t it lovelies? From rain, storms and strong winds to gloomy dark mornings, it seems like that plane ride to sunnier climates can’t come quick enough.
However, if you need a bit of sun before you or go or at home, my top ten books and pick of the month at Hertford Library can take you to a dreamy beach. Dive into blue seas and skies with one or more of these…
Ink Blood Sister Scribe by Emma Törzs: This book follows two sisters, as they must navigate a fantasy filled world to deliver their families magical books. You will be left spellbound from the first page.
The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: This classic YA book has been enchanting fans since its release. Head to Cousins Beach and spend time with Conrad, Belly and Jeremiah, as they navigate first love and teen angst.

The Story of Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson: Years and years ago, when I first ever got a library card in the school summer holidays, this was the first story I took out of Hertford Library. Now, I would love another person to discover it for the first time.
A Lady’s Guide to Fortune Hunting by Sophie Irwin: If you love Bridgerton then this book is for you! Uncover a new world of regency, as one woman seeks to find her true place in society.
Seven Summers by Paige Toon: Liv and Finn have made a promise to each other. To spend every summer together if they are both single. However, when Liv meets Tom, everything change. The summer of love and heartbreak is in full swing here.

ReplyDeleteSeen you shared a bookish post & I had to read it. I absolutely LOVED a good girl’s guide to murder and read the whole trilogy soooo fast. I believe Netflix is realising a series about it this week actually which I can’t wait to watch.
