Forget The Griddle! Make Easy Oven Baked Crumpets With This Recipe!
00:00:00If you are like me and don’t have a griddle or skillet to cook crumpets in don’t worry! I have found a super easy recipe for baked ones that uses only four ingredients to make this classic comforting creation! You will have no excuses from now on not to make these all the time to enjoy at breakfast, lunch, dinner or even supper!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Crumpets were a staple food in our house. In fact, they still are! At least once a week we had or have them. When I was younger, I used to like them covered in butter and chocolate spread. Now, I love them with a good blob of jam or runny warm honey. Honestly, there is nothing quite like it!
I’ve always wanted to try and make my own, however, I’ve felt like I’ve been prevented from doing so, as I didn’t have a griddle or skillet to make them. Yet, I’ve found a solution. One that allows for you to bake them.
Using four simple food cupboard essentials, these crumpets can be ready in under 30 minutes. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert! You could even make these as a midnight snack. You wouldn’t ever regret doing so! Let’s get baking…
Ingredients
One Cup of Plain Flour
One Cup of Warm Milk
One Teaspoon of Instant Yeast
1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
Tools
Mixing Bowl
Mixing Spoon
A Jug
Cupcake Tin or Baking Tray and Crumpet Rings
A Cloth or Clingfilm
Method
Start by adding the flour, yeast and salt together in your mixing bowl. Once combined, gradually add in the milk to form a smooth batter.
Cover the bowl with clingfilm and place to one side for around an hour or until the batter had doubled in size and bubbly.
As the batter prepares itself, preheat your oven to 175°C or 350°F and grease your cupcake tin or crumpet rings and baking tray.
Once ready, pour your crumpet mixture into the cupcake tin or crumpet rings. Fill them to around halfway, before placing into the oven.
Bake for around 15-20 minutes or until the crumpets are completely cooked through and golden brown in colour.
When ready, remove from the oven and allow them to cool for a few moments before removing from the rings of cupcake tins.
These are best served warm lovelies, so find your favourite toppings and dig in ASAP! They can also be saved and reheated too however.
How do you like your crumpets lovelies? I’m definitely going for the honey jar with these wonders!
