Five Affordable Things To Include In A Halloween Boo Basket

Do you go out trick or treating? Or are you someone who prefers to stay in with a good horror film and tasty snacks? Whatever it may be, the best way to start any Halloween festivities is with a boo basket! Filled with all the spookiest treats around, they are so simple to create for all! Find out what to include here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

If you are like me then when it comes to Halloween you go all out! No matter how old someone is, you want to make sure they have the best day if they mean something to you. This is why, even though she is in her 60s, I create a boo basket for my mum, which I give to her on the evening of the big event.

Featuring all of her favourite sweets, a toy and a little bit of self care or a funny toy, it doesn’t include lots of items, just the essentials. Plus, it doesn’t cost a ghoulish amount to do either. I like to make her the bag mostly though to ensure that she does get a little something on the night, as most of our sweets go by around 8pm, which is when we may just be able to snuggle up with a horror film.

A boo basket is a great idea if you have little ones that may not be ready to go trick or treating. They can even be made if you simply want to give something to someone instead of seeing if they do get something later on. I love them so much and treasure everything that I give and get back in mine.

If you are thinking about creating a boo basket this year, I thought I would share with you a few ideas of what you could put into one. A bit like a Christmas Eve box but on a smaller scale, you will have a lot of fun making up one of these with the following…

Some Tasty Snacks: Candy apples, little bags of sweets, a sugar mouse, the possibilities when it comes to Halloween based food is endless. Pop a few sweet delights into their basket to provide all the treats they could want on the night. It will stop you from worrying that the trick or treaters will take all the others in the house. This year, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups have had the ultimate Halloween makeover, making them perfect additions to any boo basket.

Fluffy Socks/Pyjamas: Forget putting on a costume, as we all want a new pair of PJs to wear at Halloween. When snuggled up under a blanket with a pillow ready to hide behind, a comfy pair of PJs and extra soft fluffy socks are all we need to wear to embrace the horrors on screen. Plus, you won’t have to wash any make up or fake blood off at the end of the night, which is always a right pain. Instead, you can just roll up in a cocoon in bed without any nightmares occurring.

A Halloween Candle: Shops are going wild for Halloween themed candles at the moment. Scented in a whole host of aromas, including pumpkin spice, toffee apples and even a witches brew, the whole house can delight in the scents coming off one of them if gifted to your loved ones in their basket. It is a gift for all not just for one.

A Creative Project: Every year, I always end up getting the Halloween themed LEGO in my own boo basket and I love it. Making it with a scary film in the background is oddly a real delight to me. A tradition in fact. Gifting a creative project to your loved one can bring out their playful side in a whole new way. With colouring books, diamond arts and clay structure kits all available, you can find the right one online and in stores to pop in the basket.

Spooky Self Care Items: A face mask, spooky bath bomb and body lotion are a lot more fun to apply to the skin than fake cuts, blood and fact paints. Leave all the ghosts and ghouls at the door and allow your loved ones to embrace treat after treat with some pamper bits. Lush is the place to go if you want a really festive bath bomb lovelies.

A boo basket can include as little or as much as you want lovelies, so don’t be afraid to branch out and explore what the shops have to offer. My mum’s currently has a few bits and bobs, which I plan to add to as more is released, however, we never go too overboard on items lovelies! It is a day full of treats not tricks after all!
