Good Morning Lovelies, 

Over the past 31 days, I have been flying high on happiness! Don’t get me wrong, there were a number of iffy times, yet, I was made so happy by my best friend’s news in July that I don’t think anything could have upset me! Plus, I turned 31 in my favourite country on the planet, so the good vibes within me could not be dampened. 

August has a lot to live up to now if it is going to produce the same amount of happiness that the following items, events and news did in July. Here is what made the last month so special…

My Favourite Film - Power Ballad: John Carney is a real legend to me, so when I found out that he had a new film out starring Paul Rudd, I was all over it. Much like Once and Sing Street, I fell head over heels in love with the way it captured the art of Irish music so well. I haven’t been able to stop singing the soundtrack since viewing it. 

My Favourite Beauty Product - Marc Jacobs Daisy Wild Eau So Extra: Every year, for my birthday, I like to mark the trip and occasion with a new scent. Having found out that this was on sale at a bargain prize in Duty Free, I purchased it before we had even got to Belfast. Obsessed with the sweeter notes in this version, Marc Jacobs have once again proved to me that they are the best perfume makers with this scent.

My Favourite TV Show - Irish TV: There wasn’t really a TV show that stood out to me in July, leaving me turning to my old faithfuls to keep me entertained. Yet, when we were in Belfast, I was sucked into the stations out there. I find going on holiday a real eye opener as to what others are watching, as we get so used to what our normal channels show. Ireland have some really interesting watches to say the least and I loved every minute of them. 

My Favourite Food - Irish Porridge With Runny Honey: There is no better comfort food in the world to me than porridge. Especially the Irish kind, which I buy when I am at home, but also have to have some when I am there. For my birthday this year, I enjoyed a big bowl of the stuff, using White's Jumbo Oats, with delicious Irish honey. It was the most perfect meal that I could have asked for on the big day. It was better than birthday cake to me.

My Favourite Podcast - Parenting Hell: Rob Beckett and Josh Widdecombe have been keeping me entertained with this podcast for years. In fact, I think it is the first podcast I ever really got stuck into. At the moment, they are on real fire and whilst I love the celebrity interviews, the chats and inbox based episodes are the best. Their recent flow of them has made them a real highlight of my weeks throughout July. 

My Favourite Moment - Belfast/A New Bestie: To mark my birthday, I headed back to the land that holds my heart firmly within its grip. However, this time, I headed north of Ireland to Belfast. One of my goals this year was to explore a new place and this was it. I could not have been happier with my choice! Although we had some concerns, we really didn’t need to. Everyone was so friendly, the sights were amazing and I came back with the Irish energy I needed to keep me fired up until Christmas. 

Whilst we were away, we were also awaiting the birth of my best friend Dee’s baby. After a long and hard journey to have him, she finally gave birth to the most gorgeous baby boy and I could not have been happier for her and her husband Mark. He is the most loved little one and a very very welcome new member to our gang! I like to refer to him as 2026’s baby of the year!
