My February 2026 Book Selection At Hertford Library
00:00:00We may finally be about to feel the temperature rising, as February is here and that means Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! To mark the most romantic month of the year, I have gathered a very loving collection of books for my display at Hertford Library! Discover my February 2026 book choices, which are now out on the shelves, right here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes! Love is all around us and that means that I have been able to read lots of romance books without any cares in the world! Rediscovering some of my favourites, whilst also picking up a number of new ones to devour, I have selected a number of them to go on display at Hertford Library.
Out from today, you can pop in and find the following at the front of the building or in your local library and book shops, to help you get into that loving mood. Bookmarks at the ready for these…
Book Of The Month: The Gingerbread Bakery by Laurie Gilmore: It may no longer be Christmas, yet this book is the best from Gilmore, the new queen of romance books. Full of enemy to lover tropes, the flicking between the past and present has you yearning for more for the two leads. You will be hooked from the first page, even if you haven’t read the rest of the series.
Me Before You By Jojo Moyes: One of the most heartbreaking romance novels of all time, the bond between the two characters will stay with you long after reading. Upon going to work for Will, who is bound to a wheelchair after a motorbike accident, Lou finds herself falling for him. Yet, tragedy strikes that causes the pair to reevaluate their relationship. This book will show you the power of falling in love in all circumstances.
Bridget Jones’ Diary by Helen Fielding: There is no way that I couldn’t make this list and not include my literary hero Bridget. Having to choose between the perfectly imperfect Mark Darcy and sleazy boss Daniel Clever, Bridget’s recounts of her hectic life makes for the most perfect book to cozy up with on Valentine’s Day.
Powerless by Lauren Roberts: If you are looking for something with a bit more fantasy in it, Lauren Roberts has made it! Fighting to survive after discovering she has an unnatural power, the stakes run high for Paedyn, who must watch out for those trying to take her down, whilst also resisting the charms of Prince Kai.
First Time Caller by B.K. Borison: Anyone who loves Sleepless In Seattle will love this book about one woman’s journey to get back on the dating scene. After her daughter calls into their local radio station asking for help, she soon finds that the answer to her dreams may be closer to home than she first thought.
The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston: How would you feel if you fell for someone who lived in the past? This book shares the romance between two people as they find themselves having to chase time to be with each other. Full of wonder and awe, this book is pure sunshine.
Icebreaker by Hannah Grace: It would not be right to make a list without a hockey romance on it. Having taken the world by storm, this novel ignites the sporting genre, as these enemies to lovers melt the ice with their spicy relationship.
The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary: How would you feel if you lived with someone that you never saw and only communicated with via post it notes? Well, this is the premise of this smash hit book, which is also a TV series now. After moving in together, the pair find themselves working different hours, meaning one has the bed during the day and the other at night. Yet, when a situation arises, they soon find that they may just have to meet to help solve the case. Fun, heartwarming and full of yearning.
Lessons In Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus: Not all relationships have to be between partners to be celebrated on Valentine’s Day. This gorgeous book sees one woman working hard to achieve her dream, whilst looking after her daughter, who narrates the novel. The admiration from the young character makes you appreciate the special ones in your life just a little bit more.
The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han: I couldn’t make a list and not include the biggest love triangle series of the decade! Whether you have seen the show or not, you will not want to miss out on reading the books that started it all. Follow Belly, Conrad, Jeremiah and their families, as young love blossoms and tensions grow. Then binge the series!
Landline by Rainbow Rowell: One of the best romance books for both young adults and adults, this novel sees its main character being given the chance to speak to her former self. Seeing the opportunity as the chance to fix her marriage, the conversations held over the phone are some of the most beautiful pieces of writing ever.
