Feed Your Soul Only The Good Stuff With NUDDA This Year!
00:00:00Looking after ourselves is vital when it comes to our bodies! Having tried and tested a number of different ways over the years, I am still learning about what I can do to care for my own. Especially when it comes to what to feed it! Therefore, I was incredibly impressed when I heard about NUUDA, who are making meal times a breeze!
Good Morning Lovelies,
When you think of the ready meals in the freezer aisle, you could assume that they are all bad for you. Yet, to me, no food is bad for you. Being able to accept it all is a healthy choice and as someone in active eating disorder recovery, it means embracing the delights served to us. Especially when so many are working hard to make sure that what is in those sections is healthy, hearty and full of goodness.
A brand achieving this is the incredible, NUUDA, who remove all ultra processing techniques to provide meals built to suit your personal taste. Made by chefs, the meals and snacks available are produced and sent out via a subscription, bundle or one off purchasing system to help make the stresses of cooking something good for you a thing of the past.
Kindly giving me and my family a few to try, the team behind the dishes gave us a real variety to put to the test. As a non-meat eater, I was able to appreciate the wonders of their vegetarian range, as was my mum, who is a meat eater, who I decided to test them on. Taking the Black Bean Curry with Rice, the Tofu Korma with Rice, Coq Au Vin and Chicken Korma with Rice for herself. She also quickly snatched up the Vegan Energy Balls too, as a snack to take to work with her.
Straight away you could see that these meals had been made differently to most. Removing all harmful packaging, everything came in a recyclable manner, which was an instant win with all in our home. Thankfully, the packaging could also be used to cook the meal, meaning we weren’t having to make a load of mess to enjoy it too.
Arriving in the middle of the week, we used the four meals to fuel the rest of it, keeping the curry dishes for a Saturday style takeaway. Putting the Coq Au Vin to the test on Wednesday night felt like a real treat for my mum. Not having to stress about making it, she popped it into the microwave and in 10 minutes, she had one of her favourite dishes on the table.
With gorgeous scents coming off it, she was quick to tuck into the juicy chicken thighs, which came with a side helping of sweet potato mash and vegetables that she had added in. When asked about the meal, she told me to give her a minute, as she couldn’t get over how wonderful it was. She had been worried that the mushrooms would have gone soggy, but she was happy to confirm that they still had that fresh texture to them. The meat was cooked perfectly and with the sauce it melted in her mouth. Having not had much experience with sweet potatoes before, she loved the way that the mash blended in with the rich sauce to give a taste bud extravaganza that she confirmed she would happily have again.
After such an exciting experience with the first meal, she was eager the next day to try the rest. Having decided to add some beef strips to the Black Bean Curry with Rice dish, she transformed it into a chilli style dish, serving it all up in a hot tortilla wrap. Again, she was happy to confirm that the flavours just burst in your mouth, with the subtle spice being perfect to enjoy as a curry or in the form that she had made it into. The vegetables were crisp and the rice extra fluffy, making for a perfect winter warmer of a dinner.
Throughout all of the week, she had also been taking the Vegan Energy Balls to work with her and was happy to confirm to me that they were perfect for keeping her energy levels up. As a nursery worker, she is always on her feet with the children, yet she stated these kept her motivated and more alert than her usual snacks. She even told me that she had been breaking them up a little and adding them to her granola and greek yogurt in the morning to boost the protein within it.
Finally, we tried the Chicken Korma and the Tofu Korma dishes, on a cosy Saturday night in. Going all out, my mum cooked both for her and a friend, as I am allergic to soya and therefore couldn’t try the dish myself. Popping them into the microwave for the same amount of time meant that they could be on the table for her and her friend to enjoy in no time at all. Both gave off the same gorgeous coconut scents that korma is known for and our house smelt incredible.
From the moment the pair tried them, they were equally moaning at the delights of each dish. The tofu was juicy and had absorbed all the spices and flavours that the sauce brought with it, whilst the meat stayed rich and tender. The rice retained the fluffy crunch that curry dishes need and the added sides that they placed with them of mini naan breads meant nothing remained on their plates.
Every single meal that NUUDA gave us was incredible and my mum and her friends have already looked up ordering more, which if they do, I will be adding my own choices too. Each meal presented a beautiful and authentic meal that had been made with every ounce of care given to those enjoying it. The team behind the brand should be proud of their achievements in every single way.
For those of you who are like us and are looking for easy nutritious meals that are full of only the good stuff then I can confirm that NUUDA is producing it. With a website full of options, I promise you that you will find something to enjoy right away. Plus, with each dish being under £9, it is a lot cheaper than a takeaway! Winner winner, NUUDA for dinner!
