00:00:00

I love to spend cosy weeknights or weekends getting creative! Especially when the crafts are so easy and free to do! Using simply items that you may find at home or in the garden, this little lantern will bring a warming glow into your home in no time at all! Find out how to make these cute little autumn leafy wonders right here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

There is something so wonderful about seeing twinkling lights glowing brightly when the cold nights draw in. I love the way that they make everything seem so much prettier. This inspired me to want to share a little project I’ve found real joy in recently with you lovelies.

Using pieces that can be found in your home or garden, these little leaf patterned lanterns take no time at all to create. The whole family can join in with them to make a big feature in fact.

Autumn is officially glowing with these leafy lovelies…

Tools Needed

A Clean Glass Jar

Real Leaves

PVA or Clear Glue

A Sponge or Brush

Ribbon or Twine

A Battery Operated Tea Light

Method

  1. To start the project, place the leaves in to a book and press them down. It is best to leave them for a day or two but you can press them quickly if in a rush.
  2. Once the leaves are ready, take your jar and apply a thin layer of glue onto the outside of it.
  3. Gently place the leaves onto the glassed jar, overlapping them to create a stained-glass look.
  4. After placing the leaves onto the jar, apply another thin layer of glue onto them to secure the leaves and to create a smooth finish.
  5. Leave them for jar to completely dry before wrapping a piece of ribbon or twine around the neck of it.
  6. Upon finishing decorating, place your tea light into the jar and watch the leaves glow.

The rich oranges, browns and red tones that shine from the lantern will bring endless amounts of joy to your home lovelies!
