My September 2025 Hertford Library Book Selection

00:00:00

Can you believe that we are already in September? As we begin to prepare for the colder, more cosy months, it is time to find the best books to stock up on! Luckily, my new selection has just been put on display at Hertford Library for you to enjoy! Find out what this month’s choices are here to keep you entertained this month!

Good Morning Lovelies,

After a bit of a reading halt, I am back and better than ever with it. Something I think comes down to the changing of the seasons and the weather. To me, reading a book is done best during the cosy autumn months, which my brain has been leading me into with my book choices.

With this in mind, I have selected ten books for my display at Hertford Library, which I think are truly cosy under a blanket with a hot chocolate worthy. It’s time to snuggle up with these new worlds…

Book Of The Month: The Wedding People by Alison Espach: Would you tell all your secrets to someone you have only just met? As our leading lady unprepared to get married in the hotel she is staying at, she finds herself telling the only guest not invited everything. With more and more being revealed as you turn each page, the book becomes addictive in all the right ways.

Think Again by Jacqueline Wilson: There is nothing like a new school term to make you think back on your own school days. Many of which I spent reading and watching the antics of the girls in this book. Reading their stories as adults makes me feel all sorts of nostalgia.

We Solve Murders by Richard Osman: With an all-star cast fronting the film adaptation of this instant classic, this murder mystery should be read first to prepare you for the antics that they face. It will grip you from start to finish.

The Dubliners by James Joyce: Telling the stories of a number of Dublin based dwellers, this honest take of life in Ireland is still as enchanting now as it was back then. Having just come back from the city, it is making me want to go back and see the sights and people in a whole new way.

Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood: As we prepare to head into the spookiest month of the year, you can get you witch fix in a not so dark way with this fun romance. If you love the show, Bewitched, then you will enjoy this story.

We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han: With the last few episodes of this show about to air, get ahead of the plot by reading the final book in the series. It has been revealed though that the ending may not be the same, so be prepared.

Matilda by Roald Dahl: When I think about school and going back to it after the summer holidays, I can recall taking my big library copy of Matilda to read with me. I don’t think it matters what age you are, you can’t beat a Roald Dahl classic.

Binding 13 by Chloe Walsh: This book is a big one but a good dramatic start to an ever growing franchise. Dark in some places with romance tied on, this Irish coming of age love story is unlike any others on the market.

Intermezzo by Sally Rooney: Known for giving us heartbreaking romances, Rooney has done it even more so in this heartbreaking novel. Get the tissues at the ready upon reading this one, as it’s even more intense than Normal People.

My Return To The Walter Boys by Ali Novak: With a new series having just landed on Netflix of this hit series, catch up with the whole Walter family in this new sequel. Fans have been longing for it since the first book and it seems that it was definitely worth the wait.

I Hope This Finds You Well by Natalie Sue: Ever had a workplace mishap? Well, this comedic novel is full of them. Best read away from your working environment, as you will be laughing out loud a lot, which may get you in trouble with your own boss.

What book will or do you hope to read this September? If any of the above sound like something you would enjoy then you can find them on my display at Hertford Library or in your local one, as well as in book shops across the country! Do let me know what you think of them, as I love to hear your own reviews!
