Whether that be by the pool or whilst cooling down under a shady tree! Get those bookmarks at the ready for these wonders that will transport you to a whole new world!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Summer is the most perfect time to pick up a good book. Especially a feel good one lovelies! This month, I have selected a handful of them for you to enjoy at Hertford Library.
Out now on shelves, I hope that you can find a spot on a beach, under a shady tree or by the pool to enjoy these delights…
Book Of The Month: Hate Mail by Donna Marchetti: Ever wanted a pen pal? This romance novel brings about an idyllic story that is perfect beach or pool side reading. After growing up sending each other hate filled letters, Naomi and Luca know each other better than anyone else! However, as the years have passed, the letters stopped - until recently. You won’t be able to put it down!
Best Summer Ever by Heidi Swain: The queen of romance filled summer reads, Heidi Swain has done it again with this real delight. When a young woman is faced with coming home, the summer she thinks she should be having couldn’t be any different. Yet, it could be her best one yet.
The Favourites by Layne Fargo: Although we don’t have any summer Olympics this year, this book will transport you into the upcoming winter ones. Full of romance, mystery and shocks, you will be rapt until the last page when all is revealed.
Grumpy Darling by Alexandra Moody: After smashing the charts with her first YA book, Alexandra Moody is reuniting us with her beloved characters again to give us a new ice hockey story. Expect angst, first love and lots of action on and off the rink.
Murder In The Dressing Room by Holly Stars: If you love a murder mystery with a difference then this is the one for you. Featuring a drag queen detective, the story has a glitzy outlook to it that others lack, making for a very fun read.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen: If you live in Hertford then you may know that in Ball Parks lies the home that this novel is sad to be set in. Seeing it under the summer sun always inspires me to pick up this classic and re-read it. The Mr Darcy pool scene is an optional thought.
Begin Again by Helly Acton: You can always restart your life again and again. No matter what age that you are! This novel proves that as the leading character faces coming to terms with dealing with a whole new outlook on life.
Close Knit by Jenny Colgan: Knitting may seem like more of a winter activity, yet, this book proves this idea wrong. Set around the adventures of the newest member of the village knitting group, it captures the wonders of true friendship. With a little hint of romance too.
One For My Enemy by Olivie Blake: When two witches are faced with the ultimate betrayal, they decide to come together to save everything that they have ever known. It’s a fantasy story with a lot of darkness but also a lot of hope too.
Marigolds Mind Laundry by Chong-un Yun: Every night, the people within this novel have their hearts cleansed. Every bad thing that they have done is removed. Following five different characters, the book captures the reactions and actions that this causes. Super uplifting, you will be left feeling very happy after reading.
Okay Days by Jenny Mustard: If you are a fan of Normal People then you will love this book! Capturing the reactions between two people as they fall in love for the first time, Okay Days is a joyous look at how everything changes when a relationship forms.
All of these books are now on display at Hertford Library lovelies, as well as being available in other libraries and book shops too! Let me know if you pick them and what you think! I would love to hear from you!
